Mileage runs for Aegean Miles+Bonus thread

Not sure if such thread already exists but I thought this might be interesting thread to start to share good deals with Aegean Airlines in Y and C which could help FTers qualify or requalify for their status.
If something similar exists, feel free to merge it.

I'll start off with the one-way deals I recently found in business class:
HER-CDG for €188
ATH-CDG for €191
HER-FRA for €171
ATH-EIN for €181
SKG-HAM for €164
ATH-EDI/DUB/MAN all for €200 --> by far most interesting due to their largest distance.

Nice idea! One thing I've found is that direction also makes a difference. Sometimes one way has a better price than the other, even if both use the same fare class.

One other thing I came across on Facebook is that apparently Aegean is experimenting with 'Business class light' - allowing the Business class cabin, but not having things like flexibility and checked luggage. I don't think its yet clear what that means for mileage earning, however it may end up being a cheaper way for a mileage run.

Edit: Different mileage amounts for both types. Even though both in this example book into D-fare.

Full overview of differences: https://upload.xandrios.net/16551541...2023.02.21.png

Mileage earning. Business basic gets 220%, regular business 250%: https://en.aegeanair.com/milesandbon...rlines/aegean/

This is the ZRH route, hence the crazy business fare prices.

I'll list some more fares on Aegean/Olympic for the 4-segment hunters. Those are the cheapest available one-ways in economy I've stumbled upon:

SKG-HAM €32 OTA / €37 A3 site
SKG-BER €35 OTA / €38 A3 site
(Whoever lives in Germany, I'm jelly.. those prices... damn, I'd go every month to Greece)

SKG-MXP €34 OTA / €36 A3 site

Domestic:
HER-ATH €25 A3 site
KGS/SKG-ATH €30 A3 site

One ticket, multiple segments:
BLQ-ATH-LHR €61 A3 site
SOF-ATH-LHR €56 A3 site
TIA-ATH-LHR €55 A3 site

Also:
SOF/BLQ/BEG-ATH-OTP/IST/ADB/CFU/HER available for similar prices

Domestic SKU-ATH can be had for 17 euro through an OTA or 20 through the Aegean website. Of course the other way around will be higher due to the taxes departing from ATH.

One thing I've realised booking Aegean... is to wait for sales whenever possible. Make sure to book early for summer, and only during their 40% sales for winter. Especially when aiming to buy Flex fares that makes a huge difference on the total price.

With the current promotion (TRIPFOR2), which is valid for eco & business class return trips, you can score some nice deals.
€225 ATH-DUB return trip in business class + 8906 status/award miles to be earned.

Hi,

I was looking for easiest way to get silver and then gold on same day trips
I found these routes

booked to get silver
LUX-FRA-SKG-MUC-FRA-LUX where FRA-SKG-MUC is with A3 so 2 legs and get 10500 tier miles, so silver should be fine

I also try to get gold with only 1 trip
eg
LUX-FRA-ATH-SKG/HER-ATH-FRA-LUX
or
LUX-FRA-MUC-ATH-SKG/HER-ATH-MUC/FRA-LUX

but really difficult to find, only with 1 night in HER/SKG or ATH

I was also looking for SD 4 legs, but is very difficult to find ones
X-ATH-SKG/HER-ATH-X

cheers

yeah, we know

Now on the subject. It is very difficult to do 4 segments ex-Germany, because there aren't that many options (German airports) with multiple (Aegean) flights per day. Frankfurt and Munich come to mind, but Aegean will still not "allow" you to book SD returns with 4 segments, due to very small turn-around windows. You can book these separately, but this will be a huge risk! For example you can do 3 segments on the outbound MUC-AAA-BBB-HER and then take the direct flight back, or vise-versa or you can do 2+2 segments, but all these options offer about 40min turnaround time at best (and since you can only book that on separate tickets, you're not protected). What you can actually book that gets you 4 segments during the same day ex Germany is an open jaw like MUC-AAA-HER / HER-AAA-HAJ (works on Thursdays thanks to the late flight SKG-HAJ). But that's going to be a problem when your base is LUX of course.

There's no direct answer to that. It's your money so only you know if it feels like good value. Do you actually need to go to either place (I'm guessing not if it's a mileage run)?

It also depends on what dates will can travel. Longer flights tend to be better value for mileage and some great deals are available off season on typically "economy heavy" routes. The only time I've paid for A3 business class (if that's what you mean by J class) have been on ATH-DUB and ATH-LIS. Both are just about A3's longest routes and I paid around 160 Euro for DUB (4460 tier miles) and 180 for LIS (4453 tier miles) so DUB only cost me 3.58 cent per tier mile). ATH-TBS will get you 2855 miles which is costing you 7 cent per tier mile.

It really depends on so many things such as how badly you need the miles and by when.

Also look at connecting flights via ATH, depending on where you are based. I once flew DUB-ATH-TLS in economy for LESS than DUB-ATH would have cost - lots of extra miles!

I need two segments ex-BCN before end of Sept., would prefer not to overnight in ATH, and not spend 400 if I can help it. I was thinking a one-way on A3 and then Vueling back to Barcelona but not coming up with anything viable. Anything come to mind for anyone?

ETA: Never mind! All I needed to do was post on FT and immediately a new option came up I hadn't seen before, BCN-ATH-MXP with a short connection for 129eur and a ton of LCC options MXP-BCN!

The previous business class deals posted in this thread can be now booked with the promo code "ONEPLUSONE" which gives you a very nice discount .
Valid until 19OCT2022 and only for trips booked in November.
Keep in mind that most of the times the lowest fare price in business class has only 1 seat. By booking for 2 you'll therefore have to pay for both pax the higher price. However, this promo code can get me 250€ RT trip from a lot of places .
Also works on ComfortFlex, Flex and light tariffs.
