California, On Us Promotion

Just saw a blogger post about this, but new CA-based MP members (first 25k who sign-up) by 3/3 will get a free intra-CA flight (just taxes/fees) between 3/29 and 5/26. Must be booked between 3/5-3/7. Change or cancellation after 3/7 loses all discounts, but a decent deal for new CA-members who would be flying within CA during those dates.

Brilliant idea to garner new customers in CA, and it doesn't directly affect elites.

Saved $25 cancelling and rebooking a AUS-LAX flight for April (I'm going over on AA because the eastbound flight is too late in the day)...

Most likely, yes. Still, I was able to use the discount to book a rt SEA-SNA flight in May that I'd been holding off. 30% off the outbound and 10% off the return. Not bad.

Thanks, signed up the boyfriend... as for me, I had an old account which expired but I guess that counts. Alas.

Also, Alaska refused to believe 90046 is a valid zip code for West Hollywood - they only accepted Los Angeles... until they said, ehh... you've been a member before.
Irony is on them, I have never flown Alaska before, but I got an account made when they merged with Virgin (and then whatever they gave me during the merge I didn't get to use, I was dirt poor then)

Got excited for another discount code, only to realize, AS still doesn't fly to Denver from California.

I've had several flights through California the last couple of days, and have been surprised we haven't heard any announcements about this promotion. It could pair well with a credit card announcement. Now that I'm onboard a flight to SEA, I probably just jinxed myself

Well, AS just kindly requests you connect in SEA, PDX... or coming soon, ANC. Now there's some miles!

The safety dance ad played on the 5pm news on one of the Bay Area stations tonight, and at the end of it they inserted a screen with the 30% off promo code. Just booked a 4 day New York City trip myself for late March after Gov. Cuomo partially relaxed travel restrictions today for those of us that are vaccinated.
