Canadian brand creates collection crafted from old Air Canada airplane seats

Seen & noted.

https://vancouversun.com/life/fashio...airplane-seats

The product:457 Anew offers fashion and accessories crafted from “landfill materials and conscious fabrics.”

Handmade in Canada, the curated collection of accessories and select ready-to-wear for men and women features sustainable textiles such as cotton from America and cruelty-free cactus leather, as well as repurposed seat belts for trim, handles and straps.

Locally crafted by hand in Canada in “small batches,” the products feature a unisex, minimalist design aesthetic. Our favourite from the line is the backpack crafted from upcycled leather sourced from decommissioned Boeing 737 airplanes from the Air Canada fleet ($297). The limited-edition lineup of bags are chic and stylish, while also boasting a unique story to tell.

Next to the picture of a 747-200... "BOEING 737 LEATHER"

I get the impression, 737 leather is a brand name. Not a product from a 737.

Aren't most of AC's seats cloth?

Understood. I was just hopeful that they were recycling / upcycling the Max before I had to fly on it again.

Hopes dashed.

So only $46,629 if someone wants to buy all 157 recycled/repurposed flatulence cushions.

//Sadly these aren't from decertified AC 737 MAX planes.

The old CRJ had leather. They may be Jazz now, but they were hand me downs from AC. I thought the Rogue seats had leather. I don't remember the Zip 737-200 seats. I know they were different from when Canadian had them. Perhaps leather.

They could be on to something.

Maybe these guys can make something interesting from the non-cruelty-free defective seat bladders. Wineskins? Trampolines?

I believe they're made of pickle skins, from their old MLL pickle stockpile.

Think about the number of people who vomited or passed wind on that seat during its lifetime. Do you really want to buy it ?

Reminds me of a recent purchase I made. Got a bifold made from an old AC 777HD seat.
