PDX Concourse E New Extension Opened (7/15/2020)

Anyone get a chance to check out the new concourse E extension today? It might be worth a walk down there for some Tillamook ice cream With all WN flights leaving the C concourse, I guess this will provide AS more "breathing room" although I'm not sure they need it right now I wonder if the E175 flights will all be departing from jet bridges at PDX rather than via outside stairs now that so many gates have opened up.

E175’s have been using regular gates for a while, pretty much since the pandemic started. I flew back from BOI about a month ago and arrived at C3.

I think the plan is AS will have all of the eventually expanded B, and AS/AA will split C. Not sure if PoP is going to put anyone else in C; the plans are pretty opaque.

I think the plan currently is to also keep Jet Blue in C.

Will that be enough for their "upcoming hourly LAX service?"

Where are all the AS regional flights located? I've not been on one or noticed since the A gates were around.

All the Horizon Q400 flights have been departing from the very end of the C concourse since concourse A closed. Since the C security checkpoint is currently closed, if you're on one of the Q400 flights, you have a LONG walk ahead of you

Are they using ramps at the end of the jetbridges? Or have there been any more permanent modifications?

I think they're about to announce an every 15 minute PDX/SEA/SFO-LAX shuttle as part of their INVASION AND TOTAL DOMINATION OF LAX.

No bridges are being used...there is a huge tent at the end of the concourse containing a huge ramp....like a temporary version of what's at the Horizon gates in SEA.

I demand lie-flat seats on PDX-LAX.

If that's the old PDX carpet at the end, its worth the hike for nostalgia.

Indeed.

Especially if they offer squeaky cheese and ice cream

Now only if there was an airplane museum.

Wait! This is next to UA isn't it
