How to carry big stuff on BA
Hello,
I'm going to the US soon for a Art show, and i'll bring with me paintings and PVC banners.
I found the biggest luggage on earth, it's really huge and it's perfect for all my paintings, however the PVC banners don't fit.
It's 1 meter long and rolled the diameter is less than 10 cm.
I'm wondering how to bring it with me:
Any advise on it would be really helpfull.

- Would it work if i have no hand luggage to consider it's my hand luggage ?
- I could buy extra luggage but first it's expensive as ba charge £60 and i have no box for it.
Any advise on it would be really helpfull.

There are sports holdalls available that are 1 meter in length. They are dirt cheap (little as 10 pounds) as schools and clubs use them for football paraphernalia. Try Sports Direct.
Personally, I would pack it securely in bubble wrap (or whatever) and add it to my check-in allowance, paying the extra 60 pounds. What tiny fraction of your overall expenditure for this (important?) trip is 60 pounds? Also, take a look at this.

From personal experience BA don't seem phased about oversize luggage provide it isn't heavy (and don't much care if it is up to 30kg or 35kg). It just seems to count as a normal luggage item. See here for example on sporting goods. If you can check some skis you can check a poster tube or similar. I took a self-assembly back of heavy wooden tables through LCY (total length a little over a meter). No one cared when I checked it, but I did need to go to oversize luggage.
