BA really valued my patronage today!

It was so heartwarming to receive an email from them with the heading "Mr {LastName}, it’s time." So personalized!

Yes it's a merge field fail and BA aren't known to get IT systems working, but did it really warrant a new thread?

I'm just grateful that the IT people aren't those responsible for flying the aircraft....

I lost count on the variations I've been addressed by BA. Yesterday a mail boldly exclaimed "It's time" again, for a flight in late April 2020. This time it read "Dear (firstname) Mr (secondname).

Should I feel the need to respond, would it be proper etiquette to reply to "Dear British Mr/Ms Airways" ?

Sounds like a BA enhancement (which as we all know means something is about to get chopped away...)

I would send a complaint, telling them that's Mr Surname to you!

No doubt someone's already put in an avios comp claim for this.

I had the Mr Lastname e-mail this morning. It just shows the love and care that BA feel about the folk who pay the money.
Was it worth a new thread? Yes, because it is indicative of BA's attitude to the slf, and its cost-cutting on IT.

Just change your surname by deed pole. Magically, such instances of computer stupidity will still be addressed to everyone!

Dear Mr. D Pole...

No that won’t work.

BTW, ‘Deed Poll’ might work better
