Priority Boarding Query, Parents in F, Teenagers in Y
We are flying LHR-SJC next week with my wife and I in F and one son and his friend in Y. I know we can take them through the First Wing and into the CCR before the flight, but I am wondering if they can priority board with us as well ? Being in Y I assume they would just board in their allocated group (no status for anyone in the party) but I was wondering if we can get them on board at the same time as us so at least we know they are on board somewhere and not managed to get lost at LHR somehow even if we escort them to the gate in the first place. I am working on the assumption that First passengers can board early or late at their own discretion but happy to be corrected on this e.g. do F passengers get called first or last ? Our first time in F, so looking forward to it. TIA.

I expect the rules say 'no' however, we have travelled a cabin or two 'up' from our two sons on occasion and have always taken them to the boarding gate as we boarded, explained we are a family, but travelling in different cabins and there has never been a problem with us all boarding together.

Gate staff normally allow this, if you explain. To be honest, if the "Boarding Group" thread is anything to go by, you can do anything you like and nobody will stop you. You could even chance the "families and those who need extra time to board" group, since you're travelling with your child!

Actually thinking about it you probably won't be on the same booking as it's quite difficult to mix classes, but anyway form a phalanx around them and a few "they're with us" will get you through.

We are on 3 different booking references, although they have been linked together (or so I am assured). The Avios redemptions had to be booked separately for us and our son as they were different classes and then we added his friend on a further booking later.

I don't think will be a problem - GAs just want to get everyone on the plane quickly and in roughly the right order...I don't see them making a fuss in this scenario if you ask politely and don't make a big noise about it
