Flash Sale Availability

I just missed the flash sale yesterday... which is unfortunate because I was planning to go to Salt Lake CIty for a weekend in April, which was one of the sale destinations from New York.

To make myself feel better (or worse), are the flash sale prices normally widespread, or just specific flights / a few days a week?

Sorry if the answer seems trite but Delta's flash sales in scope, pricing and duration are whatever Delta wants them to be. If you see good award pricing take it immediately and use the Risk-Free Cancellation to bail after you have considered the details.

I suspect availability would have been limited on peak weekend departure dates. I see availability in late April for 19K-20K RT from LGA/JFK. 4/5 - 4/8 is available for 28K - 33K RT from JFK (depending on whether you pick red-eye return or not).

I would have... I just didn't find out about it until today. I wish they had push notifications for the flash sales.

Like Email? I'm signed up for Delta promotions and get notified of the 48-hour flash sales on a monthly basis. They are sent on the second Tue/Wed of the month. If you use Gmail, you can create a label for these and then enable notifications on that labels. The subject line always has "Flash Sale" in it and the sender address is [email protected]

LBJ, how do you sign up for these? I queried the site, couldn't find out where to register. Thanks!

Not sure which specific one of the notifications it is (most likely Fare Sale & Last-Minute Deals). I just have all of them selected.

navi_jen, on Delta's web site, login and go to My Delta > My Profile. One of the dashboard squares (sort of in the middle for me) is "Email Preferences". Click on "Open" and it will load a page with five different email options. I'm guessing the first one includes Flash Sales. Direct link is https://www.delta.com/profile/notifi...sAction.action

Thanks! Both for this and for the Europe sale.

Not just hubs and gateways. Thanks to your pointer I just bought RDU-JFK-LHR/DUB-ATL-RDU Aug/Sep for 128,000 SM +$51.43. Into LHR, back from DUB avoids the UK luxury tax.
I also found it from DCA at this price.

Thanks, LBJ for pointing this out.
