Worth "splurging" for business class on Surfliner LA-San Diego

Looking at a mid-afternoon (3pm) LA departure on a Tursday a few weeks hence. Do we get anything worthwhile with the business class seats instead of unreserved? Best I can figure it is access to the lounge in LA Union Station and guaranteed seats versus possibly SRO.

Anything else??

A little more legroom and a snack pack with your choice of beverage(soda,
water, or wine.) Not much to get excited over but I would still reserve it
for lounge access in LA. The main lobby waiting area in the station can get
crowded in the afternoons.

I think it's one of the better Business Class upgrades out there as you get snacks, drinks and lounge access. I've done it on that route and would do it again ^

Took this route in business class a couple of weeks ago. I thought it was well worth the extra money.

Considering that the "extra money" was only 500 UR->AGR points I went ahead and booked it. Should be fun.

In that case, definitely worth it (and I have done the same).

Grab seats on the right-hand side (as the train sits on the platform at LAUS, this would be the opposite side from the big LAUS waiting room) for coastal vistas on the trip (one of my favorite short routes on Amtrak's system!).

If you haven't known this already, just be careful that seats face both directions (similar to commuter trains or Keystone trains). If you hate riding backwards, something to consider.

Just to mention that Pacific Business Class also gives you access to Amtrak's new Metropolitan Lounge at Los Angeles Union Station. While in the lounge, you can request a Red Cap Shuttle to take you from the Lounge directly to your Surfliner train for boarding. ^

Does the train have wiif? i'm doing biz class tommorrow to visit a FTer. I know there's no more metropolitan lounge access for free. I will be using the Skycap to the train due to a bum knee. I've done HOM-CHI and that has wifi, but also done the Zephry which doesn't.

Cheers.
