Cancelling an award booking?

How soon will the flight be availible to others on BA.COM when I cancel an award flight over the phone?

Exactly the same, there's no guarantee that Z class refunds will go back into Z class.

Is the answer to this still quite negative, or have we seen a change for the positive with the recent revisions in online functionality?

i.e. anyone got recent experiences/impressions of cancelling bookings online and the ticket dropping immediately back in to the X/U/Z bucket?

P.S I know there's no "Guarantee", but has the experience been quite good?

Cancelled two this year (both F awards) and on neither occasion has the award inventory increased either on the day or shortly after.
