Could be a good idea - I plan to be in town thru May 2.

I wonder if there's a day that our country cousins could make the trip into the big ringo to join us....?

IIRC, the restaurant was empty last year. I think it was the first time Chin-sensei was happy to see us.

I'll probably have to call it Project Bear Update to make it appear chargeable.

Glad you had a good time & don't forget to bring the new camera when you return!

HTNI (part 2 Day 1) Continuing last years thread, I thought I would start again.........

It was a quiet day in INAKA(well everyday is quiet). Oddly, I did recieve some mail, and from the City Government no less, which I immediately shredded. I managed to get to the next cities local gym to find that I was one of three people in the entire complex (well, there were many staff). Worked out with the free weights and discovered that someone has been pilfering the 5 KG plates for the dumbells. Just another example how things are changing for the worse in this society..........Came back home and noticed that it was "niku no hi" so I bought some Saga Gyu at 1/2 off which I plan to enjoy tonight. Later on in the afternoon I took the pooch for a nice long walk in sun. Late afternoon I went and saw "Blood Diamond" and "Babel". I had free passes to the latter through a contract postion at the Nishinippon Shimbun, so I watched Babel first and then paid 1,000 Yen for the late showing of "Blood Diamond". Both were good movies........All in all a good day!

We took the train from Yotsuya to Fussa yesterday afternoon a little ahead of rush hour. It was crowded but not too bad. This morning, we took a bus back into Tokyo. Chuo Expressway heading west was practically empty; I was quite surprised.

Hope everyone has a wonderful week!

HTNI (part 2 Day ) Flight of the shiro-ari............

So there I was, sitting watching the LCD and something is buzzing around my head. it wasn't "a something" it was a "horde of something". My kitchen/livingroom was under attack from the dreaded shiro-ari (of course just after I cleaned too). I had to run out to the Pharmacy and get a bomb. Bombed my place and then was up until 1 AM cleaning up the carcasses..............I think a 28 KM traffic jam would have been better!

What? Niku no hi on the 27th? Shouldn't it then be called "ninana no hi"? (Though I don't think I would want any "ninanas".) Did you share any of that Saga gyu with the pooch?

It was actually on the 28th as the butcher is closed on Sundays.

HTNI (part 2 Day 3) More cleaning........

After the Shiro-ari attack and my bombing of them, I decided that I would also have to clean all the curtains and windows, appliances etc. too .........It was a beautiful day and I did manage to get the pooch out for a walk....Even made it to my favorite patisserie shop and bought some bikkies which I enjoyed over coffee with the "baba" from next door!
The evening was rounded out by a nice 52 min. cycle at the gym (have to keep up with jib )!

I'm betting you're extremely pleased with yourself for having invested in that Dyson... when was it? Oh yes, around about now last year
