I would have to think the answer is no because the flight is treated as a domestic flight however the agents in Houston may be more likely to make the error and assume int'l., the agents in San Juan would definitely know better.

It's actually a good question. Even though it's a U.S. commonwealth, CO handles the reservations through their international desk. You might want to call the make sure. I am going in a couple weeks, but I have a membership card.

From Continental's website:
* Lounge Access: Platinum members enjoy complimentary access to SkyTeam lounges worldwide when traveling on or connecting to a SkyTeam operated international* flight. Present your same-day ticket for admission.

*Flights between the U.S. (including Hawaii) and the Caribbean do not apply for complimentary lounge access.
On the other hand, I could have sworn that first class passengers flying to/from SJU, including upgraded elites, were entitled to enter the Presidents Club a few years ago. Now, Continental's website says:
BusinessFirst customers are also welcome to visit the Presidents Club. A BusinessFirst boarding pass is required for admission. BusinessFirst customers can also bring up to two guests, or a spouse and children under the age of 21. Domestic First Class or International Business Class do not qualify for admission.

Yes, you will be able to use the lounge.

Lurker, that is interesting, because a few months ago, COInsider confirmed that someone could EUA for a COPA flight and have lounge access because of it (marketed as IBC AKA domestic F). Possibly things have changed with the new year or he just knew that most PC locations wouldn't know or care about that small exception.

I know that some of the rules changed recently. Canada, for example, is no longer considered international for purposes of lounge admission.

I think this is still true. We upgraded tix coming back from SJU recently and the check-in agent specifically told us we could use the PC (and recommended that we do so). However, there may be different rules for first class versus Plats. If the Plat gets an EUA, then I'd think he would be able to use the lounge.

Interesting - I am going to Mexico this weekend in F. I'll try to get into the PC and post the results.

Took a flight to Aruba last weekend and was told that we were not entitled to PC access with OP Plat. This doesn't make sense since its a true international flight, but they quated the Carribean exception. Had to dig out my AMEX Plat to get in

Hi flameryngster, the website reference provided by longtime lurker is correct. Travel to/from the Caribbean (including Puerto Rico) is excluded from our Platinum/SkyTeam Elite Plus lounge access program. On the other hand, if you're confirmed in International Business Class traveling to/from Puerto Rico (even if it's a complimentary Elite upgrade), you will have access to the Presidents Club, but with no guests.

Thanks crnk, the wording in our website link provided by longtime lurker is indeed incorrect. We're getting that wording changed in the next week. Customers traveling on Continental in International Business Class (including the Caribbean/Puerto Rico/Canada) are allowed access to our Presidents Clubs (but with no guests) anytime on the day of departure.

Sorry for the confusion.
