"Due to ticketing issues, we currently cannot sell Moscow originating journeys online or via our call centre. For ex-Moscow, please contact your local travel agent."

Must be our Russian strange aversion of e-tickets.

All in all, it is good news. I think of trying BD in November.

If BA can now do on-line booking ex-DME I don't see why BD can't.

The Star Alliance partners of BD, such as LH and OS, issue ex-SVO e-tickets as well.

In case anyone is interested, the Moscow aircraft is going to be G-MIDZ, the oldest A320 in the fleet.

But I presume will be completely re fitted with the new "new business". Any hints anywhere on whether this will be a long haul or short haul service or as I presume, somewhere in the middle?

I rather suspect the existing seating but with a row removed for extra pitch. But I'd like to be wrong.

Business is supposed to be in a 2-2 layout and 41 inches of pitch. I'd expect them to have a brand new seat and not just block out both middle seats. Maybe something like domestic F in the US?

It will be a "free" service I believe. BD have drawn the straws and decided that this will be a full service route.

Then they can just substitute one of the rest of the fleet. Cabin service can still be provided up to the Moscow spec. Not the end of the universe if a standard-config aircraft does the trip a few times, many of the passengers honestly would not know .....

I wonder if they'll take the opportunity to paint her in the new colours when they're changing the seats. I think she's one of only two A320s left in the old colours.

BMI website now gives the option to book the UN codeshares on-line (from November) as well as the BD flights.

UN flight (using a 733) leaves DME 10:05 arriving LHR (T1) 11:15.

return leaves LHR 12:25 arriving DME 19:30

Prices (if booked as a codeshare) are identical to BD - but you can still only book ex-LHR online not ex-DME.
