With regards to AMS itself last Saturday and Sunday were total chaos on arrival. Huge queues both in EU and Non EU lines / auto gates. The Non EU lines were moving quicker and the British passport holders were getting through quicker. Total shambles.

AMS passport control has gotten unpleasant since covid, they actually ask EU citizens questions, why are you here, what are you doing. That somewhat borderline in terms of the EU free movement rules.
At least the control point at the end of the D pier is open again

Not great in LHR this morning. Fried food yes but doesnt look great. Grey looking porridge. Virtually no pastries or fresh fruit. No orange juice 🙄
Disappointing fare compared to usual experiences later in the day.
Having said that the flight over gets me over the concierge hump so happy days!

Hopefully someone on FT will be one of the first to venture and experience the refurbished 51st and would gladly take photos and provide a review once it's re-opended 😛

Sitting in the EI lounge thronged as usual around this time. Food area is a pinch point to the extent people are getting annoyed as they try and queue or sit at the counter and people push past with bags.
Would be lovely if there was overflow allowed/sent to an area in the new lounges.
