Impact on MCT and Oman Air on Recent Events

Looking at flight arrivals/departures it appears that Oman Air has been much less impacted than their neighbor countries and airlines. Anyone traveling through the area that can confirm how things are going? How well are Oman handling cancellations and rescheduling etc?

Yes, that is what I am seeing also. I would think they are busier with people trying to reroute to get out of places they are stuck in though.

Thinking of booking a ticket through MCT in June and wondering what the experience is like. Prices remain reasonable but wonder if there are any issues with the airport or lounges being overcrowded?

Service as normal in MCT, first few days were a bit crowded with repatriation flights but now it is normal.

Flight back to Heathrow that landed this morning was pretty much full. It took 9 hours instead of the timetables 8. We flew across to Saudi coast then up to Suez canal before hitting Europe.

I actually moved my upcoming trip via MCT to November and am flying USA to Asia via different route. Not so much due to a safety concern but worried that something could occur to to disrupt flights at MCT. Nice to hear that it sounds like everything is pretty much back to normal at the moment, I like going through MCT.

AMS → Muscat → Bangkok on March 28 anyone done the MCT transit recently?

Hi all, were heading to Thailand on March 28 via Oman Air with a 4-hour stopover in Muscat, returning the same route around April 11.
I know the security situation in the Gulf is tense, and Ive read all the official advisories and news. But what Im really looking for is first-hand accounts from people who have actually been through Muscat airport in the last week or so:
∙ Whats the vibe at the airport? Is it functioning normally or does it feel like crisis mode?
∙ Were long-haul flights (especially to/from Bangkok) running on time?
∙ Anything unusual during the flight different routing, turbulence from rerouting, announcements from the cockpit about the situation?
∙ How was rebooking/communication from Oman Air if anything went wrong?
∙ Would you do it again, or would you choose an alternative route in hindsight?
Oman Air tickets are already booked. Trying to make a smart decision here rather than panicking.
Any recent experience appreciated especially from Europeans who transited MCT to/from Southeast Asia.
thank you

The airport is functioning as normal and flights to BKK are running on time based on FR24 data (they even added more flights to BKK and other destinations in this period).

I watched Gabriel's experience through MCT a couple weeks ago in this video, the situation seemed pretty normal
