That said, the choice of beige food and bus station waiting room vibe was the same.
Indeed, the "better" one for non-Schengen departures is after passport control, by gate 9. "Better" only in the sense of location, the offering inside both lounges is equally bad.

edit: In case helpful to anyone travelling in the near future, got a message this evening with details of how to receive an online voucher to use in bars and restaurants at the airport.

Not sure if it's been mentioned but flying from Palma, currently the lounge is closed in Module A.

The new 'Main' concourse lounge has opened after previously been downstairs and tiny before security was moved downstairs.

The space is vast, usual Palma AENA offerings.
Nice view of the runway over some buildings.

But note it's before passport control so remember to leave a bit of time.

Doesn't help you now but I was at the CPH lounge in January and left after 20 minutes as the food offering was awful and it felt like quite a drab place. You haven't missed much.

Unfortunately most BA lounges are relatively poor really - if only Cathy Pacific lounges were accessible at all airports!

The Mont Blanc Lounge at LYS is a bit of a pain as it is past Passport Control at the C Gates and that doesn't open till about an hour before the flight this Morning to LHR.

Food selection was not very appetising and there was only me and one other guy in there.

Still managed to grab a few pastries some cheese and a Cappuccino plus a can of Sprite to take onboard.

Other than that a very nice Airport with FT Security and a smoking area airside.

Basel Lounge

BSL lounge shared with Aspire etc but very decent size wise. Currently sitting on the terrace enjoying the sun. BA use the first floor. Food simple enough and drinks selection a bit limited but overall a nice place to relax.

The whole lounge is shared for all airlines at the airport (and Priority Pass). The terrace has a view of the whole runway and most of the apron, which is nice for plane spotting (it also includes a smoking area). The only annoying thing is that it sits before passport control.

About to depart CPH and apparently BA has a new temporary lounge arrangement with the Aspire lounge (between A and B gates, i.e. before passport control) since this Monday.

Unfortunately this information hasnt reached or been understood by the local staff.

As I hadnt received any text voucher I went to the checkin desk to enquire about the current situation and was told to BA customers could now use the Danske Bank lounge.

On arrival there they explained they had received an email this Monday that BA now use the Aspire lounge and sent me there.

Aspire wasnt aware and didnt have BA on their list so off back to Danske Bank I went. The very helpful ladies rang back to Aspire and explained the situation and the concept of airline status, Sapphire/Emerald/Gold/Silver. After a long call the lounge dragon apparently relented and back I went.

A minute later when I got there he was still not convinced but after showing my app card and helping him pick it out on his screen I was finally let in. Hard work just to wolf down some breakfast but thankfully I was a bit early today.

Three renders of refurbed lounge. The sign says the hoarding is coming down 27 April.
The new seating looks decent. Fingers crossed the food (especially the breakfast offering) will be improved as well.

SZG - the airport map is a bit ambiguous. It suggests there might be security straight into the lounge? https://www.salzburg-airport.com/en/...at-the-airport

Also, does anyone know where the passport check is here? I.e. is it before of after the lounge? I'm guessing there's no non-Schengen departure area so it's probably after the lounge.

Just come back from there. Pretty ambigious in person too. We missed it, but there is a priority route that delivers you right at the entrance door. It didn't appear that large or particularly quick when the airport was dealing with large number of people returning home from skiing holidays. We took the normal route and were through pretty quickly.

Passport check (I seem to remember) was at the gate or immediately before.

The lounge is nothing to write home about, but I imagine nicer if not as packed as when we were there. Rest of airport pretty basic too, but staff were incredibly pleasant (as you'd expect in Austria).

Thanks!

What's the EES sitation like? Return flight is at 10:40 so wondering what time to get to the airport. I also have an EU passport but my wife just has UK/US. Since we don't have the kids with us I'm thinking of biting the bullet and just doing the registration on my UK one.
