Of course they are not taking the opportunity to invite Loyal customers, they are monetising it

BER to ZRH & BER to CGN

From 299 in whY or 399 in Business

I'm happy they've opened most of the seats in 789. lol...

Honestly, if they'd used the JU52, I'd have bought it even if it cost twice as much...

I am actually not sure what it is you are buying other than a flight in a wide body on a narrow body route. It is also reasonably short notice.

And one way, so not easy logistically & that makes it expensive

And shall we talk about the limited‑edition gadgets and souvenirs that will be sold on board at ten times their normal price (only to reappear on eBay the next day at thirty times the price)? I have a sneaking suspicion that on 6 April these will become the most profitable flights in the entire LH network, and theyll sell out in no time.

Very late in the day to announce these flights, it is Easter weekend, i certainly have my Easter plans already in my Diary, booking connections separately & any accommodation will cost at this short notice

Guess some companies will book it as a happening, but why would HONs pay for it out of their own pocket?

It should be just a symbolic fee for HONs imo.

I guess LH considers 299/399 symbolic for their high spenders

For SENs, the prize is 348 EUR for either flight in Y (green), no other travel class available.
Certainly not a bargain for an intra-D oneway flight.
Selling these flights for 100 EUR would be appropriate, if giving them away for free for some of their most loyal customers is out of question...

Unfortunately, the legendary Ju52 D‑AQUI has reached the end of its operational life and is now a museum piece. I still remember, though, that about thirty years ago, in April, to mark its anniversary, Lufthansa (which at the time was still a serious airline, highly regarded by Italians for its proverbial punctuality and reliability) organized a tour of this aircraft across the main Italian airports. At each stop, one or two days of flights were scheduled, and I was lucky enough to take a half‑hour scenic flight over Venice and its lagoon.

Back then, passengers were invited and didn’t have to pay anything; in fact, a generous buffet was offered at the airport after the flight. I can still recall that the boarding pass for that flight bore the words “First Class,” even though the seating was extremely basic and the onboard service practically nonexistent.

Maybe they’ve already included the fuel surcharges, given the very recent spike in oil prices.

The funny thing is that from Italy, a LH round‑trip flight to New York (via FRA or MUC) in April is being offered for just 308 euros.
