LAX-PVR

Pre-ordered Beef Bourguigorne. Very tasty and service excellent. 7/20 in F and 1 in Y+ (due to PVR); ghost flight.

Yet another different execution of the beef bourguignon. Consistently inconsistent.

Hoping my CPU for Monday clears (I'm guessing about 50/50 odds) in time to pre-order and give it a try.

2/27 IND - SFO UA500 (one of my favorite flight #s)

Yet another different presentation of the Beef Bourguignon, but I have to say it’s become my favorite domestic F entree in a few years. Full of flavor.

Today’s version had plenty of fresh parsley - haven’t had fresh garnish on a domestic dish in years!

Great service from a senior CLE-based crew. I’ve takes this flight twice this month, and it’s on the CLE bid schedule - all of the crew on both flights had 35-52 years of flying.

Unfortunately, the Magnolia Bakery "United signature vanilla pudding jetstream dream" will take the place of the much more elegant cheesecake.
The cheesecake is also mass-produced and transported in plastic trays. So you would change your mind if the pudding is served in a ceramic bowl instead of the paper cup?

I don't eat the dessert one way or another, but I like the tray to look nice...and the plastic tub looks very cheap and "not" premium.

This is a completely new flavor which will debut March 1 and it’s not a banana pudding anymore. It’s a vanilla pudding instead.

Fun fact: United held a contest amongst all employees to name the new flavor. “Jetstream Dream” is what ended up winning.

… and the banana pudding itself is not great and easy to tire of / polarizing altogether. A ceramic bowl of it would make no difference.

Dismayed to see it return - hoped we were rid of it!

Again, the delicious new Jetstream Dream is vanilla, not banana.

Needless to say, I am overjoyed to see it return! I hope we can savor this and similar puddings for decades to come!

IAH>YYZ 1 March 1002 am A320 seat 2E

No PDB.

Hot (and dripping wet) towels handed out shortly after takeoff.

Drink orders taken along with being informed pre-orders were not loaded so I lost my beef bourguignon and chose the “chicken”. Asked for Prosecco but was told “Not sure we have that, do you have a second choice?” which was white wine.

One-stop plop (block time 3+ hours) included nuts on tray and Sauvignon Blanc (so I guess no Prosecco?). Bread and nuts not warm. Dressing was vinaigrette instead of lemon zest. Salad was good. Main was bland. Pudding the best Magnolia I’ve tried (the bar is low) but cheesecake was much better.

Attentive crew with re-fills despite no PDB or nuts course.

Does anyone know what the official policy for Transcon bread/wine service is. I am 2/4 (one in each direction lol) for garlic bread being available in past 12 months. Flew EWR-SFO yesterday and was told that this was a "domestic flight" so no garlic bread available but I have had it before so maybe its catering roulette. Ex-EWR catering was decent, except whatever sauce (think it was a veloute) they put on the chicken which was revolting. Arrival Lobster roll was mediocre, the lobster was extremely fishy but should not have had high hopes for UA lobster. Also asked for the new Whispering Angel "beach rose" I saw on in-app menu, but was also told rose was only for Intl flights. Has anyone tried the beach rose before? I love whispering Angel, but never heard/tried this.

was on Transcon menu but FA said she did not have it

The rose being loaded on transcon flight is indeed hit and miss. Similarly with Ink Grade cab - on the last few flights they still loaded the previous (heavily oaked) cab instead.

March 2026

Pre-ordered the bison meatloaf, but unfortunately none of the pre-orders were loaded. FA was very friendly and apologetic and said there was a system issue that day with the pre-orders. Ended up having the tortellini en brodo, which was fine. First time trying the Jetstream Dream Magnolia Bakery pudding - I liked it better than the previous banana flavor (but, admittedly, I never had as big a dislike with the pudding cups as many have expressed here). Overall good, friendly, attentive service on the quick 2hr45m flight back to DC.

The label states "frozen": was it actually served in frozen state?

My question too. I had the banana pudding so many times and never once was it frozen, though my thought was that the synthetic crap that the dessert is compromised of probably doesn't freeze!
