Additional Gold redemptionm availability only applies to economy flights. It is simply dependent on whether V class cash fares are available for sale, so as you have GDS access, I imagine that should be fairly simple for you to find out.

Good point! We have GDS access to seat map data, but not fare codes on BA just yet unfortunately - all their fares are restricted for now. We are close to having a solution though.
As far as I know the fare code data won't solve 241 CV availability though, as this is a combination of I (fare class) + some pricing logic that I don't believe is public...

Subscribed and tried on 2 BA short haul flights today. Sadly the seat maps were pretty inaccurate at showing which were blocked/free. I was very excited at an empty middle seat until my neighbour arrived 😂
in fact- its got the departure time wrong (showing 1250 instead of 1235) and showing 7 rows of biz rather than 9 possibly last minute equipment change

Generally speaking we have no cache on our seat map data so each time you load the seat map it's the live data that's getting returned by the GDS (we are using Amadeus for the majority of traffic). With that said, within the 2 hours prior to departure there will likely be regular changes to the seat map as people ask to be re-assigned to different seats when checking in / dropping bags, or even at the gate itself. It's a long winded way of me saying we do our best to get the most accurate data available, but unfortunately seat assignments are not a perfect science right before departure.

I am looking at BA2230 on 16March, and the app is showing 24/32 seats occupied. The BA website shows no seats for sale.
Does that mean that your app shows assigned seats, and that while there may be 8 seats showing as free, they could be sold but unassigned as pax haven’t paid for seat assignment?

EDIT: We identified the issue that was preventing some alerts from triggering on the seat map availability and have pushed a fix. Notifications are now working as expected - thanks again for flagging this!

I tried the app out using the introductory offer, and clearly it has excellent potential, the concept itself is very promising. However, at 7.99 per month, it currently feels quite expensive given the limited amount of information available at this stage.
For example, the absence of fare code data is a noticeable gap, particularly for frequent flyers who rely on that information when evaluating fares, availability, and mileage earning. In addition the relatively small number of airlines currently supported for seat maps further limits the app’s usefulness. Because of this, many users will still need to maintain subscriptions to at least two different platforms in order to access the full range of information they need.
At the introductory price of 3.99 that you offered, the value proposition felt much more aligned with the app’s current functionality. That price point seems far more reasonable given the present limitations, while still allowing users to support the platform as it develops and expands.
I’d be very interested to see how the app evolves, but at the moment it feels like the pricing is slightly ahead of the feature set. Clarifying the roadmap and expected timelines for additional functionality would likely help users better understand when the subscription will deliver its full value.

Hey Tobias-UK - Thanks for the thoughtful feedback. I really appreciate you taking the time to try the app and share such detailed thoughts.
On pricing, we’re trying to strike a balance between delivering value for users and covering the underlying data costs needed to run the service. A lot of the seat map and fare code data comes via GDS and additional APIs that unfortunately aren’t cheap, particularly for cabin-level availability data.
Regarding fare codes, we do support them across most airlines today. British Airways is currently one of the main exceptions, which is frustrating for me as well (it’s actually the only reason I still keep an ExpertFlyer subscription myself). We’ve completed everything required on our side with the GDS to unlock this restricted data, and we’re hopeful it will be available in the app within the next few weeks rather than months.
On airline coverage, we’ve added six airlines with live seat map and fare code support since launching in November. Over the next week we’re adding WestJet, Lufthansa and ANA, and later this month we’ll be introducing alerts for reward seat calendar searches as well as expanding airline support there too.
More broadly, our goal is to keep shipping meaningful improvements every 2-3 weeks as we expand both functionally and airline coverage.
You’re probably right that the product is still catching up with the long-term vision, and we definitely want to keep increasing the value over time. The current pricing is the lowest we’ve felt comfortable offering given the ongoing costs of running the service, but feedback like yours helps us keep pressure on ourselves to keep improving it.
If you’re curious about anything else on the roadmap, feel free to ask and I’m happy to share more detail.

I love flighty and basically track everything there. Mainly also for the updates as they tend to be quite good at that.
However, they don't offer seatmaps/alerts nor reward availability.
Seems like 2 very compatible products, at least on the seatmap side of things.
Graphics also similar enough.
Only thing is that Flighty does not appear to have Android plans, which is really, really unfortunate.

Interestingly I had an Iberia aircraft change today - and Plane Points notified me of the change a good 3 hours before Flighty did! I was very impressed.
