JL MEX-TYO AA/JAL $1,800 OW Business
Looks to be valid now through EOS. Also can be booked as a RT at the same price. Routing to HND forces AA through DFW/JFK from what I’ve found but seems to allow JAL connections through SAN, SEA, LAX, ORD. Books into X class.

Also works through TIJ although seems harder to force the A350 JAL segment from DFW or LAX with that routing

I'm see availability via DFW but since you have to connect at PHX the timings are awful. You're getting a forced overnight in either PHX or DFW, which could be useful if you're from those areas, but less than ideal if you aren't.

There appears to be a PHX-DFW redeye, at least on some days of the week, that would avoid the forced overnight. On its own or flying domestically, it'd be an absolutely brutal flight, but if you have 14+ hours of luxuriously suspended time while crossing multiple time zones in JAL J ahead of you, maybe not the worst thing in the world.

I was just able to ticket this and I was able to do it with a connection in Honolulu. It's not ideal because I'm not on Japan airlines for nearly as many hours, but it was the only option on the date that I was interested in.

You're still getting the "core" JL experience in terms of meal service, and if you're on DFW-HNL which has flat beds, that's still not a bad ride and not a material downgrade from what you'd experience during the middle of the JL flight outside of meal hours.

I go to Japan regularly and I know J fares are significantly higher than to do the same distance to Europe, but I still honestly don't consider $3600 RT to be a "deal." Or is that just me?

I consider $1,800-$2,000 to be a deal like the pre virus days but Im not hopeful we will ever see pricing like that again.
