Are the in-app upgrades still available after check in or should I wait to check in until the fire sale starts? Currently in a Y+ middle for tomorrow morning with the in-app upgrade priced at $1005 for SEA-ORD so obviously that's not an option.
Any data points on when the pricing starts to drop precipitously? From the above sounds like between T-22 and T-5 ish.

Not telling most of you anything you don't already know -- but it is SO annoying as a Titanium to receive multiple app notifications hawking paid upgrades inside the elite upgrade window and then a new, extra screen during check-in that you have to click to dismiss
I gather DL and UA are just as aggressive with the practice... but is their marketing of it more refined, or same (one message to all pax, regardless of status, etc)?

A friend saw $162 for a flight while I saw $360 for the same flight but she was Gold and Im Titanium. Thought that was an interesting observation.

I suspect that the in-app upgrade offers pricing is dynamic and has different amounts based on the travelers profile so people may have snagged them for less (or more) than what you were offered if they felt the value proposition was fair.

I agree that it's frustrating to see a flight at J4 or more at the 120-hour window and have to hope they release seats into U before someone upfares to get the seat before you get upgraded.

Some reporting here has suggested that the price offered is more like an upfare than an upgrade. It's the amount to buy the cheapest current seat in First Class. This means that it's dynamic and personal, but only to the extent that it represents an upfare from whatever fare each passenger previously paid into whatever fare bucket (and advance purchase) is available at the time of looking at the upgrade cost.

What is extremely disappointing for a MM Titanium that books most of my flights through SAP Concur for work, is I don't even get to play the buy up game. I am given no option to pay for an upgrade (or an upfare.) Alaska has never responded when I have inquired why this happens or if there is any solution. I have even called reservations to see if they can tell me the upgrade price and apparently they can not even tell me what the upgrade price is. Frustrated.....

Does anyone have experience with point and status point earning when buying the paid in-app upgrade (weeks before departure, not last minute) on a coach award booking?
If it means I will earn points and (for now) CoS bonus status points, then it might actually be worth it for me on this particular trip

But F awards don't earn CoS bonus. So I guess to be more specific my question is: does a coach award upfare to a revenue bucket, or just to an award F bucket?

Ah missed the part about award ticket. Not sure what happens but suspect its keeps the award structure so no CoS bonus.

BOI-SAN = 749 base and 375 bonus miles/pts
SAN-KOA= 2557 base and 1279 bonus miles/pts
Hope this is what you're looking for.
