‘completed’ is the standard Marriott promo wording, which is consistently interpreted as NOT including the ‘night before’.
See here for the same situation last year :
https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/36852612-post69.html
Wording was “The promotion earning period is for eligible paid nights completed between February 11, 2025, and April 28, 2025,” and the Lurkers confirmed that checking-in on the night of Feb 10 and checking-out on Feb 11 did NOT count.

Forum members are urged to read the T&Cs more carefully before pronouncing on-thread what the ‘definitive’ source says. The actual wording is “The promotion earning period is for eligible paid stays completed between 12:00am on February 25, 2026, and 11:59pm on May 10, 2026”

"standard" wording: how are members to know this is "stadard" wording ? are members uposed to search prior year Promo's wordings (which might be different, so why search for them to begin with ?? ) ?
Perhaps familar to you Oxon Flyer but not familiar to all, and perhaps wording and/or definition of wording is changed from year to year.
As a literal reading, when is something/ a stay complete? after checkout , of course (logically it's not complete before check-out).
Suggest Marriott use more definitive wording and / or provide examples as found in some IHG (and Hilton?) Promos.

Do the credit cards not come with an annual fee? Doesn't Marriott make a lot of $$ off of the co-branded credit card business. Those nights aren't free to the cardholder.
Now back to the promo, it's designed to drive specific behaviour not to appease a particular cohort of Bonvoy members who show up to hue and cry on FT.

and that it isn’t “free”.
but $800 for 50 elite night credits
it is one night in Ritz…
I would be more happy about level playing field
since it’s only in a few countries.. mainly in the US
don’t you think I would not want 5 times points multiplier? I’d have tons of points
paying for myself just for leisure traveling
which I’m glad I can do - over 60 days in a year
Do I sound like a cry baby? Maybe
but that’s the point of chats and discussion / forums
And
of course I don’t have to participate in Bonvoy program if it’s so bad. Right?
I know that
for now I’m enjoying myself with my Titanium status
however new promo ruined my plans to become ambassador … Unless of course I book 30 nights in a Moxy!! Haha

Does anyone know if I booked 2 rooms on the same day in different brands ie one night at the Sheraton and one night at the moxy on the same day, would this qualify for 2 bonus nights?

Official policy is that you can't get credit for overlapping stays. What actually happens in reality is more of a variable (YMMV) situation, but if for some reason it doesn't post you're out of luck trying to request it.

I am confident that is fine, as you’re checking out of the current hotel and checking into another.
Bali where I will be next week and also in April is a great place for this promo as there is pretty much every brand there and mostly cheap as it’s Asia.

Not able to Register?
This promotion does not appear for me, on the app or website. The link to promotion central says that it is 'unavailable, or I am nor eligible'?
"Sorry, this promotion is not available
This could be because:
- You are not eligible for it
- It has expired"

This has gotta be one of the most interesting promotions. Bouncing around hotels, one night each, seems kinda cuckoo. Since I am in London during the promotion, I am actually going to act a bit cuckoo and try a few hotels I have been wanting to try...

Yeah I used to do this back in the Starwood days bouncing around hotels. That feels like a lifetime ago though, and I feel so much older now. Not looking forward to bouncing around and repacking every morning... but the things we'll do for loyalty.

Bali is so nice though that you're going to want to relax and not hotel hop. If you have an evening flight though, there is a Fairfield right by the airport that's good for a quick nap (and not much else).
