I don't want to start a new thread for this, but hopefully I can get some advice here. I had a trip from SFO to Nepal booked for my family of 6. Flights over were on points, and flights back were a mix of points and cash (points from KTM to SIN, cash from SIN to SFO). We decided to cancel after the political uprising and the avoid travel advisory from the Embassy was issued - we were taking young kids along, and didn't want to take a risk. Singapore Air cancelled the flights booked on points, and refunded all my points. Initially, when I contacted them about requesting a refund for the cash flights, I sent in all the booking information, along with a copy of the Embassy alert. A Customer Service Executive named A____ responded by email: Considering "the political situation in Nepal and the travel advisory issued by the US State Department, we will assist with a full refund for these bookings as a one-time exception." A different Customer Service Executive, D____ followed up with this email: "Please note that we have waive cancelation fees for both the booking as a one-time goodwill gesture, and full refund will be processed due to political instability in Nepal.". At that time, they cancelled my booking.
After waiting a few weeks with no further indication the refund had been proceed, I wrote back, again sending all the documents, and another Customer Service Executive, P____, wrote back and said " as of now, we have not received any official advisory that would allow us to process a full refund for your booking" and they have stopped processing any refund.
Who should I reach out to to file a complaint about this? Would it be the US Dept of Transportation? A similar agency in Singapore? and/or are there people within Singapore Airlines I should contact. Any assistance is appreciated!

Just a little feedback. I asked about Gold lounges at Changi months ago.
So Im om a SQ flight now out of Changi. I did spend my night in the Gold lounge, T3, because with an early flight, did not want to wake up 4am in a hotel, and take a taxi to the airport.
I was there 9pm, and it was not any problem at all to enter the lounge even if my flight was the day after.
It was very convenient in the lounge, not busy. Sofa for everyone who wanted, slept some hours. The staff did even provide fresh pillows and blankets. Breakfast started 5am.
The food was overall very good. Did miss sparkling wine. But that is not a major issue.
I took a shower, the shower hose in shower number one should have been replaced long ago. Also, no amenity kit or lotion provided.
My flight was from T2, so did first look into the Gold lounge there, was much more crowded.
Overall, a solid gold lounge at T3.

it is not cancelled. you can check their flight schedule here. it is normal that this route isnt flown everyday, and its frequency is dependent on the demand for sin-bcn direct route. specifically, when demand for sin-bcn is higher, they fly that more, and this 5th freedom one less. and vice versa

Is there an easy way to extend the expiration of SQ miles? I have 500 miles expiring in the next 6 months. Is there an SQ shopping portal or something else easy? 500 miles isn't a lot so it's not the end of the world if they expire, but figured I'd check to see if there was an easy way to extend. Thanks!

Is there a way to book a flight with two different classes in out- and inbound leg with SQ? If I select economy, it won't show me any option to buy a business rate, but maybe I'm overlooking something (also took me a while to find it on Turkish).
I want to book a flight SIN-DPS. It's only a 2h45 hop, so Eco normally should be good enough. But I fly with the +1, we come from a 13h flight to SIN and will only arrive in DPS past midnight. Would like to enjoy the Silverkris Lounge in Singapore, plus a decent evening snack. Flying back however is a flight after breakfast and I should get into the same lounge as every business guest with *G anyways. So not much benefit, and I could save a few bucks (though the difference isn't huge as Eco is fairly expensive).
Maybe it's just not possible, but would be happy to learn from frequent SQ customers. Thanks!

Typically if you call SQ, they can help with booking that. Worst case is you buy the economy ticket round trip and then press upgrade with fair difference, but usually they can help with a ticket inquiry like yours.

Even Solitaire hast to WL. I doubt they will make the most desirable routes available to non-TPPS with Access being around.
Perhaps India might be an option or HK might be an option but have not checked.

Y on SQ
As of now, my wife and 1 are seated in 51G and 51H on a 777-300ER HND-SIN. Just curious, based on personal experience, is it worth my while to pay a few $$ and move up to a "forward zone" seat ? Should I just wait to the day of the flight and ask at the airport if there's something closer ?
Any comments/suggestions greatly appreciated.

Dont think it is worth just being able to get off the plane a few minutes quicker.
If it is a Premium Economy seat, maybe worth it but depends on the price.

I have existing SQ221 PE departing 8:40pm from SIN on VA award. I am planning to book HKG SQ Y flight to SIN separately on AC award. SQ 883 arrives at SIN at 18:15, meaning transit at SIN for 2:25hr. Is this enough time for transit on separate ticket? Or I should book SQ875 arriving at SIN at 16:30 (transit for 4:10) instead?
Note: There is a later flight SQ893 which arrives at SIN on 7:50pm (50m transit) which I thought would be too tight on separate ticket.

Id personally choose the 4:10 transit time, especially if you have checked bags that need to be claimed and rechecked. If the first flight is delayed and causes you to miss the 2nd flight, SQ has no obligation to rebook you without extra charges since they are separate tickets.

Based on everyone's experience, what are the chances of SQ releasing a flight that currently is not available ? Booked using Aeroplan (part of an award ticket), I'm on SQ631/186 but want to change to SQ635/178. Spoke with Aeroplan and they said that there's no availabilty on SQ 635 , otherwise they would do it. Not travelling until January next year, so I've got lots of time. Is it possible that SQ will release seats for SQ635 ? I assume a monthly call to AC might be the way to go. I am not able to do the change online. Any suggestions for conversations with SQ ?

i think award seats for partners are different than for sq kf.
