Holiday Inn Munich Leuchtenbergring

Hi all,

Datapoint: 13 July 2025
While searching I did not find a master thread for this hotel, please merge if I am wrong.
Holiday Inn Munich Leuchtenbergring for me was an excellent choice to stay for a night to meet a friend.
I discovered this hotel back in 2022 during Lufthansa IRROPs and was more than happy I was able to book it after 21:30 when everything was grounded due to freezing rain.
Hotel is located just next to the Munich Leuchtenbergring S-Bahn station, providing good transport options both to the city and the airport. I was wrong remembering it is 1 stop away from the train station. It is 1 stop from Munich Oost and 10 minutes from Munch HBF.
The room was basic yet providing all you need and clean.
Btw it was interesting to see that the hotel is providing cancellation up to 11:45PM on the day of arrival for Best Flexible rate.

Miscellaneous tidbit that took me a couple of stays to figure out: the pleasant interior courtyard can be accessed from level 3, near the lifts.

Nice place to enjoy a picnic or sip of wine!

If in need of wine, a REWE down the way offers satisfactory options. 🤪

The owner of this hotel (Revo Hospitality) just went into bankruptcy according to the Handelblatt. I have a stay upcoming on Wednesday. Anybody has any insights if this will be honored?

difficult to say. Revo Hospitality announced to be operating as usual but Accor has closed reservations for their properties operated by Revo Hospitality excepted the Mvenpick Hotels in Switzerland.

As far as I know, this HI has a second owner, so Revo has not the full ownership alone. If my sources are correct, the hotel is operating normal as they have backing from the second owner / investor,

I could only do a quick research in the German Business Register as I am currently travelling with very limited access to my professional tools, but it seems that as of today UBM is the the single shareholder of Leuchtenbergring Hotelbetriebsgesellschaft mbh (AG Mnchen, HRB 171826) which should be the compay running the hotel.

To make it short, I would not worry about your reservation too much

Revo did no pay franchies fee for their Accor properties which caused this action. To my understanding this is not the case with IHG.

It depends on what kind of reorganisation they have filed for - a bankruptcy on its own does not necessarily need to lead to direct consequences for the operations of the hotel.

Just to give you an example, the owner of the Grand Hyatt in Vienna, Signa Holding, has been in insolvency for over two years now, however the hotel has continued to operate under the person administrating the insolvency estate, while looking for buyers. Under German law (which is more or less the same as Austrian law) there are multiple options how this may evolve.

What FLYGVA noted above is a completely normal outcome in such situations.

From what I read, Munich Westpark is also affected by this, but appears to be operating normally (judging from walking by). I had planned a mattress run here (to activate the double points promo in advance of a pricey stay) on Sunday, but moved to Munich South instead (a decision brought on by the sudden availability of a €53 rate rather than fears of getting caught up in the bankruptcy). ffgap, if you get stranded, you can crash on my couch.

Park Hyatt Vienna - but yes, there are several scenarios where operations continue even though bankruptcy proceedings have started.
