What are likely Polaris refare prices ORD-LHR?

I'm booked in O in late April and have been checking the upgrade and refare prices. The upgrade price is $1750 but the price to refare to Polaris is only $830. That still seems a little spendy for the route. Does anyone have a sense of the likelihood of the price coming down to more like the $500-700 range?

edit: oops, I meant to put this in the Simple Questions thread. Sorry mods.

I'm guessing it's more likely to go up from $830 than go down to $700. Nobody can accurately forecast fares. United's people don't even know what they'll be - they'll adjust as their anticipated demand varies

Yeah, that's what I figured but I thought I'd ask just in case others had seen lower buyups on this route. I know there are other considerations to the refare, like what your existing fare is.

well, O is pretty high. What was O r/t fare? Upgrade pricing vs. upfaring. The latter could go way down depending on P-class availability and pricing

Oh, I just meant O for "premium plus". The actual booked fare bucket is R. The upfare shows P9 available, PN0 and PZ0.

We paid $1700 each r/t for premium plus both ways.

Funnily, reticketing to economy books into K and shows a zero cost/credit. Reticketing to fully refundable B is an additional $3200.

Hey!
$1,700 already paid + $830 refare = $2,530 which I think is as low as you can expect to see TATL these days. Even if that's just a one-way refare, implying the full r/t is $3,360, that's still a pretty good fare.
Not sure how much this plays into UA's algorithm, but on some airlines (LX comes to mind), the upgrade offers only get really discounted when they think they need to do op-ups, as they'd rather collect a few hundred $ or francs.
