That Oman Air fare was running at 1800 euro or less for 5k EP, which is what I did to jump from 12k to 17k EP.

I'm a weeb so I only care about JP haha. How was Oman Vs Qatar? Would you pay a premium for QR? Really liked AY sofa bed, too bad Mad-Hel is euroJ...unless starting in LHR...

Average (food good, product not great especially if you end up on the narrowbody 737) and yes, I'd pay more for Qsuites if not points running.

Not sure if I already posted this already...so I did HND-KOJ Kagoshima in F (actual F not US style F)... expected 300EP because gcmap said 582mi...but IB thought it was 601mi (lol!) so 450EP...all for 180eur cuz the yen is so low..0.41eur/EP, just a touch more than Mad-Opo...

So your total EP is 1842 EP for 1454 EUR so 0.8eur/EP which is not good since it's euro-J. You can do Mad-Opo return for 257eur on J-comfort for 0.35eur/EP and spend absolute minimum time in euroJ.

6 times at 1500eur in euroJ to get Platino Prime?? Just then to fly longhaul in PE? I would rather allocate my cash to fly J longhaul instead of euroJ points running...
Thank you very much for the information. I had assumed that the additional Elite Points would be calculated separately.

Could you please advise how many Elite Points I would earn for this booking? I have booked three round trips in J Optima at the same fare, scheduled between mid-January 2026 and early February 2026.

At the time of booking, I intended to credit the flights to Cathay in order to retain my Silver status, so I did not check the Elite Points. As I have now decided not to credit further flights to Cathay, I would appreciate knowing the Elite Points that will be earned for these upcoming bookings. Thank you.

Is this information still current, or was it published earlier in 2025? Im no longer able to find this information.

This appears on the My Iberia page when you look in the list of elite rewards they are offering:

My simulator also tells me that I am considerably better off (in terms of percentage towards the next tier) than I would have been under the old scheme. But in my case this is entirely due to my maxing out the non-flying EPs; just on flights I would be much worse off, because I think all my bookings have been in Basic Economy. No matter, since I qualify by segments.

In my experience for codeshares the IB purchase predictions are off, in the above case, the base fare is probably 2649/5 (it uses 5 instead of platino 8), so 530, then it only gave the DOH-HKG cabin bonus of 350, so that's the 880 it quoted. There should also be FRA-DOH 175, because that distance is 2853mi and very inefficiency just outside the 3000mi needed. Also the base fare might be 530 but I'm sure there's some carrier surcharges aka YQ that you would also get some avios/EP for.

That's quite a long stopover, and, if you start in MAD you get better EP as then the distance is > 3000mi. If you buy the thing through QR instead of IB you'd get an easy go calculate 1250+1250.

I hope you find this fun as it makes this "hobby" instead of a chore...

Thank you for the clarification. How about a MADHKG round trip in J Optima (outbound on IB and return on a QR codeshare)? However, this is also not an ideal connection, as separate tickets would need to be purchased for FRAMAD and HKGUNK, and baggage would have to be rechecked at both airports.

Umm, this is MAD-DOH-HKG RT? 16855/5 is 3371, + 350*4 is the 4771 in your print screen. They got the 4*350 right but probably still missing some YQ since the final price is 4749. So you'll end more with more than 5000 which is what you would have gotten if you booked it through QR.

Btw not sure what emerald benefits you get flying QR as OWE as supposed to OWS since the J lounge is better than the Emerald lounge?
