Limited-Edition Drop: Delta Backpack For Just 100 Miles - SOLD OUT in minutes
https://www.skymilesexperiences.com/...tedCatId=34946
Very poor planning as seems to be DL nowadays. (I've not be flying DL much. Getting DM status for few years has allowed me to focus on carriers I like. Thus not much DL flying in last year.)
DL Pushed email announcing and logged in within minutes, was already sold out. Apparently DL only put up 1,000 backpacks. They listed you could buy through end of year, but only had enough for not even 10 minutes. I'd rather get a prostate exam. At least there's a benefit to that poking. 🤣

I suspect that the 100 miles was a mistake price. It's not even close to the cost of shipping these things to USA addresses by the cheapest method.

If anything i feel like maybe was meant to be 100k bags? 1k bags just seems like a very low amount since all DL SKYMILES AMEX holders were eligible.

Obviously 100K RDMs for these backpacks would be ridiculously expensive.
It would have been better for DL to offer a free backpack to all (just Reserve?) DL credit card holders than to mess around with asking for just 100 RDMs?

I tried to get one of these immediately after reading the e-mail this morning. This was a little like the "60 second Barnacle Brothers sale" comedy gag that used to run in breaks of the Rush Limbaugh show.
Ed, did they really teach you this king of business ethics back at St. Bonaventure University?

Interesting. Never got an email advertising it. Had one related to skymiles experiences this morning, but no mention of the backpack offer that i see. (Im wondering if it had already sold out at that point). Oh well, Ill find a way to live without a DL backpack.

1,000 total just served to show they're either complete idiots or truly don't give a darn.
