At an airlines home base - not long. Im not sure what facilities/resources exist in Cape Town and how BA will manage this repair but one would hope the plan is already part way through execution..

Why operate back via DOH from TPE? Cargo callsign so am assuming IAG cargo uplift?

In the past I think it has been done for crew reasons. By operating via Doha (with an overnight stop-over), the flight has been able to be operated by a crew of 2 or 3 vs 4 if it came back direct from TPE. If they pick up cargo in DOH as well - even better!

IIRC, anything over 12 hours, which TPE certainly would be.

So where do we find the update on the A380's and cabin refresh with two in Manilla surely one or two will come back with a new cabin... Maybe a new livery?

Reminiscent of watching the England cricket team for the last three weeks.

There hasn't been a recent update on the A380 refresh as far as I know.

G-XLED is coming to the end of its 'heavy maintenance' work (popping up on Flightradar occasionally) after just under 3 months in Manilla. G-XLEE is next in line and arrived there just over a week ago.
