This thread discusses forthcoming changes to the hotel programs associated with USA-issued American Express Platinum cards.
The programs are Fine Hotels & Resorts (FHR) and The Hotel Collection (THC)
1) Increase in the Platinum card annual hotel credit from $200 to $600 (two semi-annual $300 credits).
2) Increase in the number of FHR properties by 400. This was announced in an American Express press release on 19 August 2025.
3) Explicit clarification that FHR and THC stays should qualify for hotel loyalty program benefits and earn rewards, announced in the same press release.

Not sure how the UberOne plays . . . I don't much care for those subscription models, though I do save quite a bit with DashPass from my CSP.
NYT is raising digital subscription to $28 next month. It's all too depressing anyway.

If true, that's actually not bad. I'll definitely make the annual fee back with Uber/FHR/Resy (though figuring out which restaurants are on Resy and which arent is gonna be a bit of a pain, as I usually put restaurant purchases on my Chase card). Rest is gravy.

Yep. That's basically cash equivalent for me.

Doc is now reporting the card isn’t losing any current benefits, so I dont see how this is anything but a win — $200 increase in annual fee in exchange for $1100 in new, useful IMO, credits and UberOne..

Yep, they are betting that the average card holder will get coupon fatigue. The more important question is will this new refresh have NLL on the SUB.

Why is it 400 FHR? shouldn't that be 600 FHR? so it should be either 600 FHR + 400 Resy = 1000 or with LLL it should be 1300
Regardless of the amount, it certainly is an "on-paper" win if most/all of the current benefits still remain.

You already get $200 FHR so $600-$200=$400.00 improvement.

To those who have few Resy options (Indy, my home town, has a mere 4, or 10 including suburbs), you can buy a giftcard through the restaurant's website and get the credit this way - as long as the restaurant uses Toast Tab to process the transactions. I've been doing this every month for the $10 Resy credit on my Delta Plat Amex. And you can just reload a $ amount to the card every month/quarter. It's a nice way to save up for a free meal.

Just posting a data point, but I called yesterday to upgrade one of my Gold cards to a 2nd Platinum.
The conversion took about 3 hours. I was able to register for the DIGITAL CREDIT, SAKS, and AIRLINE.
Already put through a charge for AIRLINE AND FLR, so I'll wait to see how long it takes the credits to post. I am hoping we may get additional FHR credits on or after September 18.
I think my anniversary for the GOLD CARD was around October or November, but the rep was very clear that I will be charged a prorated fee of $695.00 around 45 days after the conversion.
