That is my biggest issue with these schemes, if you have any problems they just point the finger at each other and pretend they have nothing to do with each other.

A new nectar points challenge. Buy 5 “healthy choice” items to get 400 points (x 5).

Sainsburys introduced a new little label on items, its green with a yellow sun in the middle with words “healthy choice” on it. Some items I’d question if they really are healthy…Chicken tikka masala in a tin?!

I guess have to screenshot every single offer before shopping, otherwise I have no proof.
Similarly I once asked when an item I wanted was going to be back in stock. Local assistant store manager said it was not down to them, it was up to HO what items were to be supplied.

So it seems strange that they can decide on local offers, but then are dependent on HO to stock them! Like many organisations these days, no joined up thinking!

Offer isn't even showing for me (yet!)

Wondering if the algorithms looked at my usual shopping run and determined there would be no point...

Check you have the latest version of the app installed - update manually if necessary. These offers typically don’t show on anything other than the most recent version, some people even need to duplicate on ipad as they don’t support older iphone software any more.

Alas definitely up to date, but thanks. I've had that same issue before, so I'll check tomorrow and maybe hard reset the app/phone.

Not directly Avios related, but had a mail today to say the Caffč Nero partnership is ending - no more exchanging Nectar points for free coffees after the 18th August. Disaster - that was by far my best redemption usage, and my benchmark value for Avios if I converted to nectar (i.e. about 1.5p)

I'm going to lay in a huge stock of coffee vouchers before the deadline, they will still be valid for a year.

I got the email below today.
I unlock each time I go in the store, but yet another obstacle they find to put in the way.
I cann see less generosity with the nectar points going forward.

As you're an active Nectar Sainsbury's shopper we're informing you of changes to the way you access Your Nectar Prices. For your personalised discounts, which will be valid from 25th July 2025, this means:

• You'll need to ensure you're using version 11.8 of the Nectar app or later.

• You'll need to view and unlock Your Nectar Prices in the Nectar app each week before you shop. Your Nectar Prices will refresh every Friday, and you'll need to unlock them each week.

• If you'd like a regular reminder to unlock Your Nectar Prices when they refresh each week, please enable in-app push notifications in your Nectar app.

• From 25th July, you'll be able to use Your Nectar Prices at supermarket checkouts in any store. This is in addition to Smartshop and Sainsburys.co.uk.

So like most things nowadays, an ever increasing amount of admin! Not exactly customer friendly is it?

I don’t understand why they make this so complicated, is it just hoping people will forget to do it and then not get the discount?

They also recently changed it from “activate” to “unlock” for some reason!

Ive had a couple of occasions recently where I've unlocked all 21 offers, gone into a shop and bought a few things, and got no points.
Checked my offers and the items I bought, say 5, were not now unlocked.
