This thread refers to the various Marriott brands within a specific geographic area. Marriott Bonvoy hotels in XX usually have posts asking which property is better, etc. Trip reports are usually better suited in the property specific threads.

Wife and I are looking at staying at either the Hotel St Paul or Humaniti early winter this year. They are roughly the same price. We will not have a car and will either take a taxi or public transit from the YUL. I am silver (so upgrades and free breakfast are not a consideration). It's winter, so pool is not a consideration either. Lot to like about both hotels and we are really having a hard time deciding. Anyone have experience with both hotels that might make us consider one over the other?

Currently at W and not impressed with gym (treadmill, 2 elliptical, free weights and old multi weight trainer).
Any recommendations for better Bonvoy gym in Montreal ?. Eg. Peleton bike, bench press.

Any consensus on the best DT hotel for a winter stay?
We would like easy access to the subway or even be attached to the underground city. That said we do like to walk.... and staying in an interesting part of DT or the edge walking into a neighborhood is appealing.... just not in blowing snow......
The 15th floor pool/tub at the Honeyrose is appealing. We like the idea of a good soak after a day of cold weather. Any other heated or indoor pools?
We don't have any concrete plans but will probably spend a day at Mount Royal in the snow.
We are gold and may use a combination of points and certificates as rates still seem a bit steep in mid-January. The RC is unfortunately priced out for us.
Thanks!

As you've noted, Montreal can get very cold and blustery during winter. Not usually a lot of snow but bitter wind blowing between tall buildings downtown. I definitely recommend one of the properties connected or very close to the nice warm underground city, giving you access to transit, the train station, shopping and restaurants. There are several in the Bonvoy portfolio including the Marriott and Delta, as well as other chains including the Fairmont if you prefer. Depending on your dates and budget, I'd start looking soon since the most convenient will be the first to fill up.

Westin - there should be a direct connection to the World Trade Center across the street but entrance not 24/7. Cross the street at front of the hotel (or restaurant entrance) to the convention center for access to underground and metro.
Humaniti - Walk across to the convention center for access to underground and metro.

Springhill to be reflagged as AC Old Montreal / NEW Moxy Downtown
https://www.marriott.com/en-us/hotel...real/overview/
Showing up in June-ish time frame
Moxy Downtown - https://www.marriott.com/en-us/hotel...town/overview/ - No address listed but the link from the hotel site shows it to be near Bonaventure next to the train tracks so hoping they got good soundproofing.

Any recommendations for a hotel that has (1) a great pool & hot tub set up and (2) proper suites with a separate living room?
The Honeyrose has a decent pool/hot tub, but no proper suites (the "King Suite" is just a big room).
The Westin has a great pool/hot tub but only has "premium" rooms (and I cannot confirm that it's a true suite).
Courtyard West/Baie d'Urfe likewise has a pool and hot tub, but their "King Suite" living room is not separated by a door, just a half-partition.
Lack of a separate living room is a strict deal-breaker. Help!

Though the Marriott no longer has a swimming pool or hot tub. They fell victim to the expansion of the gym. A great gym, btw.

Wild that even the Wow suite at the W doesn't have a door separating the bedroom... what a strange quirk to be so prevalent in this particular city.

Trawled through a bunch more property descriptions. The downtown Courtyard appears to have a pool and hot tub (with good reviews on the hot tub), and the 2 room suite actually has a door. So for now I'm going with that.
