Redeem TrueBlue points on JAL flights

Seemingly favorable redemptions.

Rates in economy, premium economy, business:

Hawaii to Japan HNL-HND 30,000 40,000 55,000
U.S./Canada West Coast to Japan SEA-NRT, LAX-KIX 39,000 49,000 64,000
U.S. East Coast to Japan JFK-HND 39,900 59,000 TBD
U.S. West Coast to Indian Subcontinent SFO-NRT-BLR 59,000 98,000 128,000
Europe to Southeast Asia CDG-HND-BKK 59,900 TBD TBD

Seeing availability the next few days from SFO to NRT at a pretty great price. Excellent value - doubtful it’ll last?

Rates aren't terrible - premium/economy seem to be slightly more expensive than AA/less than AS on BOS-Tokyo

Going to be curious what availability looks like vs the other two over the next few months

Seeing more availability today and lower rates. SFO-HND is as low as 29,000 points in August.

Seeing a serious ‘correction’ on point rates ex-west coast today, with 3 the points required. Party over?

I don't see these awards on AA, BA, CX etc. Does Jetblue have special availability?

Correction: that very high fare is actually in JAL F! I am not sure if that’s a good or bad deal all things considered. Definitely entirely separate availability compared to AA / AS.

Many reports of people already booking it. I am guessing it doesn’t pull from the same inventory?

checking JAL's own award space, it does not correspond to what jetblue is showing. Many dates in F show waitlist, so I'm doubtful about what jetblue displays, they can't have more availability than JAL offers their own members??

I wish I could do a dummy booking for you but I am short a few miles and I find the value to be suboptimal at that rate. I have an 80k AA award for JAL F...

ok I think what is happening is that jetblue displays "First" at 165K for LAX-HND for example but it must actually be for Business class, as JAL's own website does show availability in biz at 190K at some dates I checked in biz but not first

It's possible and has happened in other programs. I booked an award with United miles on an Air Canada-operated flight, that AC itself had no saver space in. And Aeroplan has in the past had access to SQ J that SQ itself did not. It's a strange world. Whether that's the case here, I don't know.

If anyone has datapoints for successful booking of JAL F or even biz for that matter for US west coast-TYO I'm interested. I'd love to be proven wrong that all that availability Jetblue is currently showing as First for 165K is actually biz.

thanks
