in his post he admits it not been in a paint bay

Changing the livery on the a380, with a tail that is 79ft high is no small task, and from being mocked that we weren’t changing it (we always were, it’s just a lengthy process - if you try finding a paint-shop for an a380 for example, it could be a 2 year wait (!!)), to late night procrastination wondering just what exactly that logo was on the old livery…our beautiful relationship of red and blue comes to an end.

Thats a fair point, I misinterpreted that as it had been in.

However as a prospective airline, you want to project that you have it altogether. Showing up for your inaugural flight with a aircraft that is in this condition is not the way to go about it

Agree. Your average punter will equate shabby paint and dated interior with old and therefore possibly unreliable (or even unsafe).

I was introduced to James Asquith in the Concorde Room last night. He remains bullish. Seems like a nice guy.

Did he offer to sell you a bridge seat on the first commercial flight?

So your stereotypical used car salesman then? Or is it a case of "there are no tanks in Baghdad"?

I must confess that when I think of Mr. Asquith, I think of a word with one more letter than "bullish".

I continue to be bemused by this airline. I can buy a hoodie off them, but not even a sniff of a ticket in the next 365 days. Ho hum

James appears to have recently got engaged, so even if his plane never takes off he should be able to pay for a decent wedding from all the merch, not to mention the champagne left over from the media event last year! Mind you, wearing one of those around T5 might be quite a fun act of defiance and subversion!

Looks like booking is now open for the inaugural flights.

I wont post the link, but I do maintain that he's got a hell of a lot further with this than any of us lot would!
