On March 19, 2025, a baggage cart hit an AA aircraft wing at Philadelphia (PHL), causing a crack. I don't know what AA flight this was, but I don't think the cracked wing damage will buff out. Will AA use speed tape or superglue to repair the damage, or will AA replace an entire aircraft wing?

Likely will require a teardown to check for stresses and microfractures to the frame of the aircraft.

Obvious damage is to a spoiler, not the wing itself, so thats a relatively easy fix. You dismount the spoiler, inspect the hinges and controls, remount and balance a replacement and voila. There will probably need to be other inspections to verify nothing in the wing itself was damaged, but that looks pretty minor.

On my mobile device, the thread title was truncated as:

"At PHL, a baggage cart hit an AA aircraft wing causing a crack. Will."

I thought that the complete title was going to be:

"At PHL, a baggage cart hit an AA aircraft wing causing a crack. Will United match?"

As posted that’s an easy repair. Probably less than 72 hours of down time if that. There is no damage to the wing.

Typical sensational media. In the beginning of the story the anchor says the "the wing of an American Airlines plane struck a baggage cart". Shortly after he says the "cart hit the plane before it was supposed to take off". The sad thing is it's channel 6 news in Philly which is usually the better of the other 3 affiliates. Jim Gardner would never have let that 6th grade level writing make it to the teleprompter.

As opposed to hitting a plane after it took off... Gotta agree about Channel 6 news and Jim Garnder [for those not from the Philly area, he was the anchort of Channel 6's news from 197t6-2022, when he retired)

Who struck whom is relative based on perspective. At least it's better than in the UK where they reported that the Special Air Service cancelled their flights to LHR instead of Scandinavian Airlines.
