My PE to C evoucher upgrade continues to confuse the system

same "issue" for me, when upgrading ZRH-BOS to F, feeder gives a lot of award miles, and longhaul segment awards distance/booking class-based award+status miles
Ticket was booked on swiss.com with 724- ticket number.

Happy to report that I got the same credit on the return

In the end I got 22602 miles for a ticket that cost me 1821� (1421� base fare + 179� YQ +taxes) and should have earned 9600 miles.🤘

For me: I got 28282 miles for a ticket that cost me 3038� (2445� base fare + 400� YQ +taxes) and should have earned 17070 miles.

Curious to know if anyone agrees with this prediction and recommendation:

I have been sitting on my miles for years, never having used any of them. Bad idea?

That prediction is valid for just about any FFP. In general I try to turn around my miles & points within 3 years max. Any longer than that and you risk being screwed.

MUC-FRA-BOM in Y/E upgrade with evoucher again confused the system: distance based on FRA-BOM, but only 240 miles for the FRA MUC.

Return DEL-ZRH-MUC in D credited 8784 miles for the longhaul segment and 372 on the short hop.

In the end 15519 miles for a ticket that cost me 2077€+370€YQ+taxes and should have earned me 14682 miles

1st time I booked D class since the new miles calculation as needed possible flexibility on date changes all LH metal , what a joke ……..

No executive bonus on any leg ?

my last TATL in S & E class ( upgrading with miles ) on OS & LH with UA internal feeders.
total 15,850 with 4 legs receiving exec bonus - cost 1585 euro.
No logic with a tkt nearly double the price , I foolishly expected more miles ……
A Schoolboy error showing loyalty to LH as I have LT SEN , sadly have a TATL on LH in May P class but from now on I will look to book UA west & SQ east as the miles are my main target.
Lesson learned.

Exec bonus went away, you now get 6 instead of 4 miles for each fare Euro spent. If the system cannot detect what you spent for the ticket (due to upgrades or rebooking) it defaults to the old distance based system and awards exec bonus.

So in your first example you spent 3000€ and got 17k, so 2840€ fare spend after deducting the taxes.

Thanks Oliver that answers my question on the high amount of miles using upgrades on the previous tkt for nearly half the price! Let�s hope they don�t spot that loophole 😁
