I have 3 trips in April and was thinking I would just cancel and rebook everything, but it's shocking how much more DL is charging for rental cars versus booking direct through Hertz, Budget etc. Seems they are adding an extra $25/day to each rental car and that adds up quickly for 3-4 day rentals. All for a few MQD that probably will make 0 difference for me at the end of the year as it did last year
No thanks, I will pass this time.

Meh. Theyve done this before. You dont accrue hotel points or elite benefits, so this isnt worthwhile for a lot of folks who are spending $20k+ on tickets a year.

Apparently you do not need to register for this promotion. Am I correct ????
Does one just go in and make said hotel and car reservations on the travelextras-delta.com page ???
TIA

Hi everyone, I am new to this promo, and also first time to keep my Delta status after I finished the status match. I booked a non-refundable rate at Abba Sevilla Hotel via Delta Stays (www.travelextras-delta.com) with my credit card and my skymiles account. After a few hours, I was asked to pay at the hotel website via a link (email sent by the hotel). I am not sure that I can get the MQDs via paying at the hotel website. Thanks everyone.

i always prefer pre-paying to expedia , but if it is a pay AT property, i pay when i am in the hotel, not clicking on email links
and yes, even paying at the hotel, you will get the MQD , but it will take 5 weeks, while prepaid post few hours after checkout

Worth noting that you might not get some hotel chain elite benefits when booked through this — so for instance, I can’t use my Globalist perks nor get night credits from these for my Hyatt stays supposedly.

It's interesting, I've never used deltastays before, so I didn't know how it would work. They took my Hilton number and thanked me for being diamond, gave me a treat and told me to park in a diamond space. I had booked a suite already, so not sure if I could have gotten a room upgrade. The stay is listed on my Hilton account, but obviously no points and (unfortunately) no nights. But, I got a bunch of MQDs, so mission accomplished. (Actually, it was a fantastic family trip and that was the true mission!)

It would be interesting if later someone has a data point on the following scenario:
Book a hotel via Delta during promotional period (before today) for a stay in April, then modify reservation to a different date in April. Will it disqualify the MQD credit or not?
Another scenario: if one books a non-refundable hotel rate and never checks in losing the money. Will it earn MQD's?

but nowhere in the terms says about it
