Was busy on arrival, but the place turned into tumbleweed when the Virgin flight to the US boarded.

If I recall correctly, towards the end of BA's time in T1, they started doing long haul flights from T1, and there was a "Gold/First bar/room" introduced off the Club lounge, that gave similar service (and wines / fizzy) to the T4 First lounge, a real bonus (and an unexpected one) for those flying short haul or mid fleet from T1.

Of course I have to mention my local, DUS, back in the days when we had 7-9 flights a day with 767s in the morning. Upstairs in the B pier, huge space, sun loungers by the windows overlooking the apron, the fountain in the middle, decent hot food.

The first lounge I visited was in T1 as a teenager. I remember it feeling quite magical as I'd never been in a lounge: Welsh dressers full of treats, parasols and sun loungers by the windows overlooking the apron/north runway, and (if memory serves correctly) a fountain. It was also the first time I drank black coffee and I've never looked back!
The tiny GLA lounge was homely but the new one is miles better!

MAN T3 still is shouting, chaos and unpleasantness if my visit last week is anything to go by.
