I was in the escape a few days ago in T2. I presume that will be BA's lounge when they move there?

Was busy on arrival, but the place turned into tumbleweed when the Virgin flight to the US boarded.

If I recall correctly, towards the end of BA's time in T1, they started doing long haul flights from T1, and there was a "Gold/First bar/room" introduced off the Club lounge, that gave similar service (and wines / fizzy) to the T4 First lounge, a real bonus (and an unexpected one) for those flying short haul or mid fleet from T1.

MAN T3 - an oasis of calm in the shouting, chaos and unpleasantness that T3 used to be.

Of course I have to mention my local, DUS, back in the days when we had 7-9 flights a day with 767s in the morning. Upstairs in the B pier, huge space, sun loungers by the windows overlooking the apron, the fountain in the middle, decent hot food.

MAN T3 because it was an actual relaxing spot where you can leave your stuff while you get a drink and not have people move it

The first lounge I visited was in T1 as a teenager. I remember it feeling quite magical as I'd never been in a lounge: Welsh dressers full of treats, parasols and sun loungers by the windows overlooking the apron/north runway, and (if memory serves correctly) a fountain. It was also the first time I drank black coffee and I've never looked back!

The tiny GLA lounge was homely but the new one is miles better!

Assuming given your username that this was the domestic one by Gate 5? Never used it in that guise but the bmi lounge that replaced it had a wonderful view.

I remember that one. In a small door and up some narrow stairs (from memory).

Then the upgrade to the larger T1 large with the internal escalator and daft bird chirping noises to make people feel relaxed.

The good old days.

Yes, I think that's the one!

I looked for some photos and came across this page - https://www.airreview.com/BA/Closed.htm

Definitely the T4 CCR. Had the feel of an exclusive club. Which, of course, it was.

MAN T3 still is shouting, chaos and unpleasantness if my visit last week is anything to go by.
