Just got back yesterday after (3) night stay with FNCs. A bunch of in depth info already shared, but if there are any specific questions, happy to answer. Feeling that I have a pretty good grip on points game, and always seeking that diamond in the rough, I feel it is a relatively safe statement to make that this is a top 10 (maybe top 5) points property in the world.

That rating makes me pretty happy to have scored this stay.

What room type did you stay in? Would you do the same next time?

I understand gratuity is included in the overall rate. If I wanted to leave anything additional, do you know if that can be charged to cc at checkout? I was also curious about Hilton gcs, but I think that's a long shot.

We stayed in the beachfront. Yes we would. We are ocean people, and only dipped in the pool a minute to say we did it. But to be <50 steps from patio to ocean is absolute heaven for my wife and I. I recall reading that you could leave additional gratuity by charging to the room at checkout. I can't speak into the Hilton GCs as our total on checkout was $35 and I wasn't about to bother.

I will say I used 5 different surpass/Hilton biz cards checking out of Tabacon (a SLH in Costa Rica), and it did trigger the credit. I imagine they'd split a bill between multiple cards at Hermitage.

Great to hear. Did you check out other places on the island? Which reminds me, I need to book a place for the few days after HB. Planning to drive around the island and check out various spots.

We did not. We have two little kids at home, and this was our first time doing a vacation since our honeymoon without them. My sister watched them, but the most we could stretch was three nights. Given the small timeframe, we just stayed put and did a whole lot of nothing.

Curious as well. Also, has anyone used an Amex Hilton card here yet? I know it won't trigger the Aspire resort credit for SLH's but wondering if the charge codes as Hilton and thus would earn 14x with the Hilton Aspire

Garden rooms did have pools. Did not see straight up coconuts on the menu, but certainly some drinks with some coconut flavor and coconut ice cream.

I am almost positive I remember reading an article on frequent miler that said SLH would NOT take Hilton GCs now that I think about it. I did use Hilton amex, but reward info not available yet. About a month and a half ago I was at another Hilton SLH and it coded as Hilton (I used Surpass to cash in on $50 quarterly credit, so coded as 12X).
