I’d best get drinking!

It is a lovely gesture. It was also intended for you and not the entire internet to hear about. BA could trace who had been the IFL on your flight and they could be dismissed over this. You will notice that I have eradicated the reference to where you were flying. One might just as well stand up in front of the whole aircraft and brandish the bottle shouting “Look what I got”. Sadly, life has taught me that one should never underestimate other people’s jealousy. I would not put it past someone to tell BA on a “Why Him And Not Me” basis
I know that you never intended that and we’re sharing a high moment, but this Board is noticed. Enough said.
Frankly, I have never bothered with this Gold Greeting. It’s lovely when it happens. I was wished a Happy Birthday last month and that was kind. My Champagne glass was never less than half full! The only time prior to that was at Iberia of all places on a CDG-MAD last March. The only greeting that I truly appreciate is “ What can I get you to drink ?”
It would be even lovelier were it accompanied by “Your Serene Highness” but as neither adjective applies to me I would assume that the crew were referring to someone else! 😉

Got chatting to the QR crew recently and their onboard management grades do not deliver the service, so their main service responsibility is to do greetings, inckuding going around to every passenger in F and J at start and end of flight . On a A380, there are 4 of them who do not need to partake in the service.
BA's IFMs and IFLs are part of the drinks and meal service delivery.

QR>CX>BA>IB>MH>JL>AA/AS
JL is one of the last as I've never had any greetings nor any informal form of recognition.
Cheers!

Recognition as Gold the first time yesterday on a Club World flight. At the exact same moment they announced the new spend based program on the ground. Now my re-qualifying plans in 2025 are totally blown up. I may need to keep a First Wing napkin souvenir on my next/last visit.

Recently did LHR-DUB-LHR-BOS-LAX-RNO/RNO-PHX-BOS-LHR-MAD with a mixture of AA, BA and IB. Received a welcome back and address by name on LHR-BOS (the purser on this flight was extremely good), other than that nothing (expected on AA) except for IB LHR-MAD in which we had a personal greeting, welcome back, let us know if you need anything etc. All flights in J.

Was on BA433 this morning DUB-LHR, not sure if we can consider this Gold greeting - and if this is pure laziness or efficiency, but certainly not personalization.
But the IFM added in his generic welcome message "to our BA Gold card holders" . He had a lot of time to do the personal greeting as we were delayed close to an hour because of deicing and traffic flow into LHR.
He did distribute water during the wait.. but nothing else to recognize GCH.
Cheers!

My last two flights
BA777 ARN-LHR - Y
BA878 LHR-WAW - J
Have been a bliss with personal greetings to both me and Mrs, with the FA Lead spending quite some time with us.
After spending 3 hours on the tarmac of AY's A350 on a nice comfy J seat, was downgraded to Y on a HEL-ARN-LHR run and the FA Lead here was amazing. Although he was not aware of the previous day journey issues (or I so think so), he had been adding a fantastic fresh air and overall vibe - with some offerings and had a few trips to the front galley
Definitely Golden Ticket worthy - and submitted already.
The WAW flight on the day after was a proper service, and included personal greetings and every time they approached me with my surname it felt a bit weird as was the only one in the cabin this was extended to.
Pity i will lose the Gold card after April.
