This thread is for discussion of so-called Chase Offers, which have the following characteristics:
  • They are visible in your Chase Online account and in the app.
  • They are targeted. You will not necessarily receive the same offer on a specific card type (or even any offer at all) compared to other holders of that card.
  • There may be multiple simultaneous variations of a given offer. Current offers for a specific merchant may vary in terms of discount level (e.g., 10% vs. 20%), expiration date, or maximum benefit. Pay close attention to the particulars of each offer.
  • You must register for (“add”) an offer in order to use it. (The Chase Offers FAQ states incorrectly that registration is not required.)
  • They run for short periods (typically less than 30 days), not for a full quarter.
  • They generally offer a percentage discount (up to a stated maximum) or, less commonly, a fixed rebate (for spending a stated minimum amount) on purchases from an individual merchant. They are typically not for spending in generic categories such as groceries, gas, etc., although these do show up on rare occasions.
  • They are typically for one-time use only. On rare occasions, however, a Chase Offer may apply to all purchases (up to a set maximum) made with the relevant card during the offer period.
  • Chase will occasionally extend an offer with no notice other a changed expiration date in the offer T&C. This does not allow for double-dipping: that is, you may not use a one-time offer during the added period if you already used it during the initial validity period.
  • Statement credits may take as long as to appear in your transactions.
    • You can adjust your profile settings to receive email notification—usually arriving within a few hours—after you’ve made a qualifying purchase.

If a chase offer that has % cash back does not specify a maximum $$ amount that you can get back, does that really mean it's unlimited? Not that I'm planning to do spend a super large amount but I do want to make sure I'll get the full % cash back on the purchase I'm planning to make, otherwise I'd split it up among 2 cards.

For example, when I look at a 10% back offer from Lyft it tells me there's a maximum of $4 and one from Lululemon says $16 so I know if I want to use those offer to make sure my purchase amount stays within that limit.

However, my 15% offer from Zappos does not state any max $$ amount. I want to buy for ~$200 and would be expecting to get ~$30 back but if there's a max cashback (that I'm unaware of because I can't find it anywhere), then I would split the order on 2 cards because this is for 2 items so I can do it, but obviously it's easier to just do 1 order using 1 card.

No experience with this, but I would expect that if there is no limit specified, there isn’t one and that they would honor that.

Maybe also check if you have a Zappos Amex offer. I have it on two cards (well, one of mine, one on my wife’s AU card):

(and Rakuten has 10% cashback… was 15% when I ordered with my Amex yesterday).

Thanks.

Yes, I have the Amex offer as well on several cards but while it's technically 20% back, my purchase would need to be exactly $125 to leverage the full 20%. Each item I want is about $100 so I'd have to find something for the difference to get it up to $125 and then do that twice on separate Amex cards. I just figured that for simplicity I would just go for the 15% cash back with Chase if there's no max and for $200 it will be $30 (instead of just $25 if I'd use one Amex offer). Not that it's a deal breaker but my UR balance is a lot lower than my MR balance so I wouldn't mind rather earning the UR points. I guess I can decide what I want to do. Thanks again for your help.

I have so many Zappos offers of different values that I was wondering if I should try to just buy a bunch of Zappos giftcards for future use.

I just don’t know if Zappos would be the merchant on the transaction.

Only one Zappos e-Gift Card purchase per order. Gift Cards are issued by ACI Gift Cards LLC and are subject to Terms and Conditions. Gift Cards are not returnable after purchase (except as required by law)”

I did buy 2 x $125 e-gift cards in November on 2 different Amex cards that had this offer and the $25 was reimbursed. I gave them to my daughter who wanted stuff and I didn't need anything at that point. Zappos is sensitive to buying gift cards so I bought on separate days and it took quite a long time for them to come (not like the 5 minutes it takes with Amazon gift cards). So I'm not sure how it will work if you want to buy a bunch.

Honestly I'm not such a big Zappos shopper but I can probably buy another 2 x $125 with my Amex offers and I'll eventually use up the extra $50 bucks. Didn't think of doing that for this order (not even sure why!) in which case I'll obviously skip the Chase offer.

But my original question still stands because now I have a 15% Pandora offer that shows no maximum cashback either and this one I'm really going to use with Chase since Amex is only giving me 6% (that one is max $250 which is way more than I need but I'll obviously take 15% vs 6%)

And FWIW I also had 5 of gc.com offers and stacked them all with BeFrugal 4% cashback at gc.com. I'm showing $40 cash back in the portal for each of them as well. The moral of this story: When doing a CC offer, stacking is worth a try!

I did the Zappos orders, and yes they tracked and I got my credits from each card.

If the correct size is available it seems like you could just exchange them without affecting the Chase transaction in any way?

Ive never heard of Chase clawing back an offer (or credits like CSR travel credit). Though who knows when that could change (seems like it would be an easy hole to plug). Amex definitely will claw back, but will generally re-apply the offer or credit if a new purchase is made within the time limit (for offers or things like plat hotel credit) - if it is made at same time as cancelation - the existing credit will often just remain

Has anyone actually got the 10k/20k UR bonus for booking through Chase Travel?

Many must have completed their trip more than 8 weeks ago but I haven't seen any DP yet
