Press release (2022-1-18) announcing higher fee, benefit changes, and new requirement to spend $6000/year to receive companion fare

BAGGAGE BENEFIT EXPLAINED:

As an additional resource for these cards see the thread here:
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/credi...s-now-30k.html

If you are applying for a personal AS card, and are not an expert on applying for A/S cards STOP, don't apply yet. Instead read
this post. Believe me, doing that first may save you a huge amount of wasted time and frustration.

Consumer card offers sorted by value of SUB assuming $.01 per mileApplication Profile Must Exactly Match Alaska Profile: If you put your Mileage Plan number on the application, be sure that all personal information matches what's in your Alaska profile. If there's even a slight difference, Bank of America is known to assign a new Mileage Plan number. In that case you will likely need to contact AS to merge the 2 accounts and/or BOA to change their number of file. BOA might also send a new plastic credit card. For the business visa, BOA is known to create a new Mileage Plan number even if everything matches.

Just out of curiosity, did you use the 70K link in the wiki? It works for me.

Cheers

There are a lot of card offers available but most of them are expired or they're targeted. I have used the 70K link in the wiki before to apply so maybe that's why it still works for me.

Cancel Alaska Personal after receiving companion pass

Hello all, I got the Alaska personal card AFTER they made the change to requiring $6,000 spend to get a companion pass unfortunately 7/27/2023. So the first year I got the sign up bonus which was a companion pass and I was close to the spend to get the companion pass for next year so I completed that.

I just received the spend companion pass in my account 7/25/2025 expiration and my annual fee just hit 7/31/2024. Going forward, I don't plan to use the card that much so it would be a waste. If I cancel the card to get the annual fee back, does that affect the companion pass I received from 2023-2024 spend? Will it get taken away or I can safely cancel and keep the award I earned

was it 7 days after the $1500 spend, or 7 days after the statement where you had spent the $1500?

You'll keep the CF cert but to use the CF cert you will have to pay with a BofA AS Visa card.

Statement credit posted 7 days after the $1,500 spend threshold was met, not when the monthly statement cycle closed.

new 50K offer--$99 CF fee is waived

Limited time offer: https://secure.bankofamerica.com/app...single/#/info/

Companion Fare cert $99 fee is waived, just pay taxes & fees on 2nd ticket.. Not a great offer but you do save $99 on the CF cert. Still requires $6K spend to receive CF 2nd year.

Does anyone know if partner booking fee and taxes paid for award tickets count as Alaska purchases eligible for 3 points per $1?

Does anyone recommend getting the biz card now to start the clock or wait for a better offer?

I just got both Hawaiian cards but am curious whether there will be a different card in the future for the combined program. Better to get the alaska cards now as well and hope the new product bypasses the 24 month language?

Just canceled after 7 years. Ate this years companion fare. Good riddance to Alaskas treating Portland like the poor stepchild.
