L background colour

L background colour
Concerning the colour of the Circle around the L in the header next to my login name....
What on earth does this denote?
I have two tabs looking at the forums, One has an Orange L, one has a Yellow L, and they stay the same if I reload the tabs.
If I open a new tab clicking on flyertalk I get a Blue L.

The letter is the first letter of your forum name . The colour is pseudo random.

Oh, I see, for some reason I thought the colour might be an indication that I had new messages in subscribed threads or something like that.
