Discussion of the discontinued Sears MasterCards which earn ThankYou Points has been moved to a separate thread, HERE.

Application link for the Shop Your Way (SYW) MasterCard is HERE.

Accumulating points, expiration, and redemptions:
You can accumulate SYW points in some of the following methods:
  • Bonus offers sent to your email (ie: Spend $750 on Online and get 200,000 SYW Bonus points)
  • Regular spend - categories: 5% in gas, 3% in grocery/restaurants, 2% in SYW Merchants, 1% everywhere else
  • "Missions" in the SYW App (iPhone/Android)
Expiration of points:
Not all points have the same expiration timeframe. Some bonus/incentive points expire in 30 days or less. Most are 1 year. You can check in the SYW app, or the shopyourway.com website. Make sure to redeem the points before they expire!!!!

Redemptions:
You can only redeem $200 worth per day. So if you redeem for a $200 GC, you have to wait until the next day to make another redemption of any amount.

Credit Line Increases
This is very odd, but according to the Chatbot on the website:
Q. When requesting a credit limit increase, is the credit inquiry a hard or soft credit inquiry?
A. Unfortunately, until we process the request, there isn't a way for us to know if a credit line increase request will be a soft or hard hit on your credit report. For this reason, we have to receive your permission to pull a copy of your credit report before we process the increase request. If you process the request online, you will see a message stating "By submitting this form, you authorize Citibank, N.A. to obtain your credit report."

To request an increase online:
In order to request an increase, you will need to go to your Credit Home page, and find Available Credit at the top of the page. Then, click on the link that says Request Increase to begin the process.

Once I hit the $10k cap for the year, for instance next month in June, is there an easy way to check GGR spend for the month?
For the grocery spending, there is a mission which will tell you if your spending is qualify for grocery or not. But it only counts up to 3 transactions.

I was thinking that the categories would also still be listed on ShopYourWay.com, even if they are down to only earning 1%? Not sure.

Has anyone used Walmart Pay recently to meet Online spending offers? Never tried it before but considering using it to buy some VGCs.

I know this is probably nothing to you guys. But this is my first ever offer. Please let me know of any insights you can give me. Any thoughts on best way to use it or parlay it into more value?
Earn a $50 statement credit
when you make eligible online purchases totaling $750 or moreon your Shop Your WayMastercard from 5/15/24 (or the date you activate this offer, whichever is later) through 6/14/24 for this offer1.
Now through 6/14/24

ET, congrats on your first offer. I have never been particularly enticed by that offer. 6.67%, technically 7.67% after the 1% in points. There are much more rewarding offers (for some of us). With most of my on-line spend, I get 5% anyway (target.com, walmart.com, amazon). So, only an extra 2.67% with this offer. So, the key is to try to spend (organically, or slightly MSed) at on-line places where you would normally get 1% CB (not 3-5%) with your other cards so you are increasing your return by a full 6.67%. If you can do online spending that you could also take advantage of your SYW 3% back in points, that's a nice benefit too (online grocery order for example). If you are ok with second hand gift cards, you can buy discounted gift cards at raise.com which counts as on-line for me. I think you also get 2% back in points from raise since they are a partner. Good luck!

They don't, unfortunately. On the website, rather than "Groceries", "Restaurants" or "Other", there's just no text there. On the app, it just says "1% in points" without any way to tell if it's GGR above the annual cap or just a non-GGR transaction.

Added SWY card to my Walmart app and tried to use Walmart pay but the terminal asked for an alternative payment method. :/ Bit my cheek and just paid with the physical card and that worked, so I was probably doing something wrong.

An update.. the missing grocery purchase eventually posted and coded correctly as 3%.

Another purchase at the same Walmart coded as grocery/3%. Both this one and the earlier one that coded as 1% were made with the physical card at self-checkout, as opposed to Walmart Pay. I'm wondering if different registers code differently?
