Discussion of the discontinued Sears MasterCards which earn ThankYou Points has been moved to a separate thread, HERE.

Application link for the Shop Your Way (SYW) MasterCard is HERE.

Accumulating points, expiration, and redemptions:
You can accumulate SYW points in some of the following methods:
  • Bonus offers sent to your email (ie: Spend $750 on Online and get 200,000 SYW Bonus points)
  • Regular spend - categories: 5% in gas, 3% in grocery/restaurants, 2% in SYW Merchants, 1% everywhere else
  • "Missions" in the SYW App (iPhone/Android)
Expiration of points:
Not all points have the same expiration timeframe. Some bonus/incentive points expire in 30 days or less. Most are 1 year. You can check in the SYW app, or the shopyourway.com website. Make sure to redeem the points before they expire!!!!

Redemptions:
You can only redeem $200 worth per day. So if you redeem for a $200 GC, you have to wait until the next day to make another redemption of any amount.

Credit Line Increases
This is very odd, but according to the Chatbot on the website:
Q. When requesting a credit limit increase, is the credit inquiry a hard or soft credit inquiry?
A. Unfortunately, until we process the request, there isn't a way for us to know if a credit line increase request will be a soft or hard hit on your credit report. For this reason, we have to receive your permission to pull a copy of your credit report before we process the increase request. If you process the request online, you will see a message stating "By submitting this form, you authorize Citibank, N.A. to obtain your credit report."

To request an increase online:
In order to request an increase, you will need to go to your Credit Home page, and find Available Credit at the top of the page. Then, click on the link that says Request Increase to begin the process.

I got an offer for $30 off on $500+ in online spending, valid 4/15/24 through 5/14/24.

What counts as online spend? Is the wiki up top up to date?

So what I do, is wait for one of these offers for big(ger) ticket items that I know I want to buy anyway. This will be my 4th time with this offer. 1st time I bought an exercise bike for my wife that she wanted. Second time I bought a 65" TV for the family room. This most recent time, I bought a PS5/games/controllers the family has wanted for a while now. I was waiting for this next offer to get a recliner and treadmill that we already want and plan to buy. So, a lot of the spend is at Amazon. Some at Walmart.com for non-grocery delivery. And I do a ~$100 Walmart.com grocery order about every 2 weeks usually using my 5% CB walmart MC so I just use my SYW card when I have the online offer. If I am not quite at $1000 near the end of the period, I have bought gift cards at raise.com, cardcash.com, and paying utilities has counted as online for me as well.

Lol! We are loving it! Thanks for asking. It came with Spiderman 2 that my 11 year old can't put down. The graphics are great. But one of my favorite things is the ability to stream clearly with no issues. I used to use my PS4 and I always blamed its spotty streaming on the distance to the main router. But, nope, it was the PS4 hardware. Because the PS5 streams perfectly! The PS5 controllers are bad a. too. And I love that it plays PS4 games! I just need to figure out how to get my game saved data from the PS4 to the PS5.

So I have the "Spend $800 on home improvement" and "spend $1000 online" for bonuses sitting in my inbox for my Sears TYP card.

If I purchase a range on Home Despot or Lows online, would that purchase count toward both promos?

I'm not sure about your exact case but there are some examples on DoC of Home Depot online orders triggering both offers, just search the comments for Home Depot. Someone on there also bought Lowe's gift cards and that triggered both. Someone here bought Delta Airlines gift cards on HD and triggered both: https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/35995925-post151.html That makes me feel pretty good that your more "normie" purchase would work too, but IDK.

Is there any danger in having a loop of SYW -> GC -> ONE/BB/Disco -> SYW?

In other words, if I buy GC with SYW, load to ONE/BB/Disco, then use ONE/BB/Disco to pay my SYW balance, is that dangerous?

Specifically, it it any more dangerous than if I paid off a different CC with ONE/BB/Disco?

Depends on "danger". Citi (historically) hasn't cared much about MS (depends on how much is "much"). The "danger" is that the places to load the cards (WM, DG, FD) dry up and the "danger" is that Amex/BB or Discover maybe shut you down. Historically Amex has closed BB/Serve for this. Don't know about ONE or Discover.

Anything MS has "danger" of getting shutdown somewhere, IMO, with GC are involved.

Thanks! Yeah, that makes sense. It sounds like this risk applies pretty much regardless of what credit card I pay off, if I understand correctly.
