Discussion of the discontinued Sears MasterCards which earn ThankYou Points has been moved to a separate thread, HERE.

Application link for the Shop Your Way (SYW) MasterCard is HERE.

Accumulating points, expiration, and redemptions:
You can accumulate SYW points in some of the following methods:
  • Bonus offers sent to your email (ie: Spend $750 on Online and get 200,000 SYW Bonus points)
  • Regular spend - categories: 5% in gas, 3% in grocery/restaurants, 2% in SYW Merchants, 1% everywhere else
  • "Missions" in the SYW App (iPhone/Android)
Expiration of points:
Not all points have the same expiration timeframe. Some bonus/incentive points expire in 30 days or less. Most are 1 year. You can check in the SYW app, or the shopyourway.com website. Make sure to redeem the points before they expire!!!!

Redemptions:
You can only redeem $200 worth per day. So if you redeem for a $200 GC, you have to wait until the next day to make another redemption of any amount.

Credit Line Increases
This is very odd, but according to the Chatbot on the website:
Q. When requesting a credit limit increase, is the credit inquiry a hard or soft credit inquiry?
A. Unfortunately, until we process the request, there isn't a way for us to know if a credit line increase request will be a soft or hard hit on your credit report. For this reason, we have to receive your permission to pull a copy of your credit report before we process the increase request. If you process the request online, you will see a message stating "By submitting this form, you authorize Citibank, N.A. to obtain your credit report."

To request an increase online:
In order to request an increase, you will need to go to your Credit Home page, and find Available Credit at the top of the page. Then, click on the link that says Request Increase to begin the process.

SYW and Thankyou Citi SEARS Cards

Does anyone own both Sears cards? The Thank You and Shop Your Way card

I have the Sears Thank you card and want to apply for the Shop Your Way card so I can take advantage of both card offers separately.

You have asked this question five times, with no response. I would take this as a good indication that no one participating in this thread has both cards. If you want the Shop Your Way version I would apply. I do not see a downside.

Linking cards

I have a few questions about linking non-SYW/Sears cards in the SYW app.

If I link a card, the app says that "All linked cards are available for Local Offers at participating restaurants near you." So I'm wondering:
  1. Does this also apply to local offers that are not restaurants?
  2. Does this apply to non-online missions such as the grocery mission? For example, can I link a non-SYW/Sears card to the app, use that card to shop in a physical grocery store, and have that count towards the grocery mission?
  3. Is there any other benefit from linking cards?
Sorry if this is off-topic; it's not about the cards but it's about the closely related SYW app.

Finally got an offer for 250k points (basically $250 in GC) with $1k online spend! Been seeing everyone else get this while I was stuck with the $50 or $70 offers for the past couple months.

EDIT: Clarified that its online spend, not any

You mean Online or Any spend? I haven't gotten the any spend offer type on my card ever (syw version) - read reports here that those stack with all other offers too so pretty nice.

This one is definitely online spend only. got the same! (with the usual exclusion list of taxes, insurance, etc in the fine print)

Super stoked. I wish the spend was $750 like last time but this is still a great one!

Did we get final confirmation whether utilities (Edison, Con Ed, Comed) when paid over the phone counts as online purchases?

Got $30 statement credit for $500+ online spending. Didn't have a Dec 15 offer for that but it's back.
