I was Senator consecutively for 14 years, then 2 years as FT, I earned More than 1 million miles during that time, yet I was, and still am below 60. To answer your question flyerlx, yes I have stars and will be Lifetime FT, my only regret is that back in the heydey, I did not credit more TK flights to my LH account, as I would have easily qualified for Lifetime Senator in the new program, but who knew or thought this way 10-15 years ago?! I had figured that at some point at or after 60 I would get Lifetime Senator.......Never going to happen, as of course M&M can just hide behind the excuse that Lifetime at 60 was never a published benefit.

Exactly. The "dead years" were quite an incentive to focus on other FF schemes every second year, and they have now come back to haunt us.

And will you not be earning QP in the new system which would count towards LT SEN?

called the FF Hotline in Germany (US was of no help....) and they confirmed that I have had Sen status for 10 plus years consecutively and my program mileage is 6 million plus. But they cannot give me lifetime status miles? They say records go only back 3 years. What is the experience here how to get that number? Curious to find out before they switch over the program...thx vielflieger

Am I correct in assuming you are not yet 60 years of age? Case closed.

Unfortunately I wouldn't hope this will happen, since you turn 60 at a time when the current rule will be history

As Lifetime SEN is not an official benefit until EoY 2023 (before the new rules enter into service) and fully to LHs discretion, I wouldn't count on it.
In addition did you earn 1 million miles in 10 consecutive years? If not then you wouldn't even qualify based on the old rules.

I used to be SEN for almost twenty years until 2019 - quite an achievement taking into consideration that I have been living in Chile since late 2007 with basically no decent *A options out of SCL.

Pandemic hit and my travelling (especially intercontinental) got seriously affected. As a result, I lost my LH FTL earlier this year, basically weeks after obtaining my infamous third status star and receiving the related welcome letter and baggage tags.

Having also been downgraded to the mere Member tier with UA, I am at present completely statusless when it comes to *A.

My question after this longish introduction: will LH recognise my three stars and grant lifetime FTL in 2024, even if I am only a blue card holder these days?

I have approached my local LH helpdesk with that same question, but there has been no reply in weeks (QED), but I hope to find someone knowledgable around here.

Not that (lifetime) FTL helps much, yet having access to C-Class check-in, the occasional lounge visit (mainly valid for DACH) and perhaps some extra luggage would be nice perks to have back to a certain extent. My travelling has picked up again and while I have been more inclined towards LA and SkyTeam lately, I would perhaps reconsider LH Group a bit more often again

Looks like there are quite a lot of flyers on here who would have qualified easily under the old (unpublished) rules upon turning 60 within the next couple of months in 2024. This includes me and unfortunately it looks like we will not get the LT Senator status because of that and have to keep flying to reach 40000 points or being ok with LT FTL as in my case.

Not happy to loose out just because of a couple of months and LH setting a drop dead date of January 1 2024 for new qualification rules. Spent lots of $ on C and F fares over the last 25 years and would have been nice to get it. Rant over

I did send them an email and hope they will respond positively. Will see...

I found the best &most use for lifetime SEN is
accessing the US UA clubs as lounge access is never part of UA domestic First.

This sounds quite generous to me. LH may not hand out evouchers for LT SEN who do not qualify, but possibly you are right: My status miles show 0, but I get HON miles when flying tough. (This said I am happy not flying so much anymore and never attaining HON....)

M&M issues evouchers to LT SEN even today, 2evouchers every 2 year cycle, just as if you requalified for SEN. Starting 2024 that will go to 4 evouchers every 2 years. LT SENs don't have to do any level of flight activity to get this.
