Fairfield Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta Airport CGK, Indonesia [Master Thread]

I was reading somewhere on this forum that there’s a new Fairfield Inn near CGK that’s going for 5K pts/night but now I can’t find the thread so thought I’d post it here. My friends and I transited through there last week (I wasn’t overnighting but my friends did). They loved the hotel and it also has free airport transfer. Here are a few pics they took.

So now there’s a much cheaper option than the Swissotel that has free airport transfer.

Slightly closer than Swissotel - Mercure PIK too. About 10 min closer

Good that Marriott now have an airport hotel option for CGK.

I know this is technically under thr FFI brand but it's so funny how they can take a NA low-select brand like that drop inn and it becomes better than some fs marriotts.

For many years there was the Sheraton Bandara on the airport grounds, but it was not well maintained, suffered from mold,
and sometime after I stopped staying there it was permanently closed. It was very convenient for early morning flights.
Yes. good that the airport location is back, since the other hotels in the area are almost all 1-2 star.

I'm preparing for my first stay here next month, and will certainly report when I'm there. Meanwhile, I received the

I would just get a Bluebird taxi from the queue once you're landside.Taxis are cheap in Indonesia and there's little point in waiting around in the middle of the night after a long flight for a shuttle.

Another vote for Bluebird.
That's a pretty, erm... thin shuttle schedule there. By contrast, a (not Marriott) airport hotel at which I recently stayed in Vietnam has a half-hourly shuttle running 24/7.

There was a relatively positive review of the property a few months back in the Jakarta master thread, but yeesh, that shuttle schedule is incredibly inconvenient and practically useless.

I was planning on staying here before departing internationally in the afternoon, but I ended up just spending a second night at the Park Hyatt with a FNC for their amazing breakfast and getting a Grab to the airport - definitely the right choice!

Semi-related question ... considering to stay at this hotel for transit in a few months. Do these Bluebird taxis take foreign credit card?
Or would I have to get IDR at some ATM beforehand?

Thanks for posting. I had written the hotel twice and got no response at all - decided to stay in town instead. IMO thiis is a generic problem with Marriuott (but not Hilton or IHG) in Indonesia, where staff English proficiency may be low

Just my experience, but I stayed at four different Marriott properties ranging from Fairfield to Ritz-Carlton on my recent trip to Indonesia and English proficiency at check-in at all of them was excellent.

How far (time) is Park Hyatt to Airport?
(in Jakarta next year and debating last night close to airport or at Park Hyatt)

PS- - love your hotel reviews

+1
OT, and purely anecdotal, observation on English proficiency in the two countries where the majority of my stays are: spoken English is better in Indonesia while in Vietnam, the command of written English (in emails, but especially using the chat app) is most impressive. In any event, haven't had a single notable comprehension issue at a Marriott hotel in either country.

Wrong thread, but like anything else in Jakarta, depends on time of day and rainy ( flood) season or not.
Could be anywhere from almost an hour to over 2 hours, closer to 3 if roads flooded at rush hour.
