General consensus: In United Polaris business Cabin, 1D and 6D/E are the best seats on this plane due to the giant footrest area and direct aisle access without anyone having to step over you to get to the aisle. 1E is very close to the forward lav, however.

Does the armrest life between 30D and 30E. I know it does not between the other seats in row 30 but I have this vague recollection of seeing it lift for 30D and 30E.
Any insight?

It's been a few years, but yes I do believe I saw it lift in that bulkhead row.
They definitely lift on the updated Polaris 789. https://thepointsguy.global.ssl.fast...peg?width=1920

Just a quick heads up - our flight to NRT is now on a 789 - we love the first row for the wider foot wells and first of in Tokyo - but the proximity to the rest room is bothersome.
Also - the overhead bins in rows 1 and 2 do not open in the middle - leaving a hunger games scenario for overhead space since the crew stores their own bags in the overheads by the windows in tow 1-2.
This flight used to be on a 772 - lesson learned.
