AIr India Website relaunch May 2022
New website is kind of sort of up. airindia.com for instance screamed "forgery - certificate error" etc. But all in all the new booking engine looks so much better. Everything is big, bold and loud. I would have liked them to present more than one fare option in a single line though. That just seems like a waste of space. That and being able to search for flights immediately on the website without having to scroll down at all. That's why people come to the website mostly. Not to view banners.
Overall great work AI. Now please make a decent portal for your FFP that was truly horrendous! And update the rest of the website to match the booking section.

Indeed, didn't notice the new website booking engine. It looks like they used the standard amadeus webshop and did a decent implementation. Simple and sweet.
As mentioned before this was in the works before Tata took over, so surprisingly good job! ^
Lets hope the migration to a new CRS enables them to integrate better with UK when the time comes.

As usual airport codes (as opposed to full names) can be entered, but then the search fails without explanation. Search entries are not retained, so one must enter everything over again to make any changes.
New AI...same as the old AI.

The booking web page, while generally more stable than in the past, still has some flaws. A non-AI FF no. is still not retained, it can be entered but it does not show up in MMB. There is also no way to enter a KTN even though AI participates in PreCheck. It was suggested in one of the blogs that one should enter the KTN in the redress number field, but there was no such field.

I'm not surprised about AI not having a KTN field. Sounds about right for AI.

Amadeus has it as a standard and it should be available in the APIS section. I suppose they don’t show it as a standard because it was not specified in the scope of the website. Remember that the new booking engine is a slightly customized standard product. Very similar to LO/OU/TP etc.

It looks like just some font and appearance changes. Functionality seems to be the same---for example when making a potential booking, it is still not possible to modify the date(s) or airport(s), one has to enter everything over again.

In fairness to the Tatas though. That nonsense booking interface was designed by GOI+AI, since it happened before the acquisition.

Last year AI went live with the Amadeus kit with minimal customization... now they are slowly tweaking things.
