C1 application process (all cards)
I got rejected for the card. Actually pretty surprised. 800+ credit score, 100k+ income. Never had a late or missed payment for any card. Called reconsideration and was told they can't do anything till I get a letter explaining decision. Hung up and called again and got the same answer.
I was shocked when they approved me (800+ score, 20 year credit history, 30+ active credit cards, $400k income, 4/24 at time of app). Theyve turned me down for their cards previously with similar statistics.

I think this is no longer true, else they would not be issuing cards which their own website shows require Excellent credit. However, they are not interested in issuing cards to people who will spend only enough to earn the new account bonus. One way that they screen for those types of customers is to see if credit reports shows accounts with a balance. This is not necessarily a balance on which we are paying interest, but a reported balance shows that the account is used.

For example, if you have a 30K credit line, does the AU now show a 30K credit line on their report?
It's interesting the SSN of the AU is optional

The card appeared in my credit history, with the full credit limit as if it was one of my own cards (see below). From what I've read, it should disappear from the history when it's removed as an AU.

In my case, my wife added me as an AU on her card (without entering my SSN).

Did she do this during application or later on? Ultimately, what I'd like to know is what does CapOne use as the AU card's open date? Does it backdate to the date that the original account was open (like Chase) or does it have its own open date when the AU card was added (like Amex)?

It's not only interesting, it's highly problematic. I know dozen's of people's names, phone numbers and dates of birth (relatives, coworkers, neighbors, friends, enemies). That's all I (or anyone) need to maliciously add cards to those unsuspecting people's CRs. Their cards would arrive at my address; they would be none the wiser... until cards mysteriously appear on their CRs thanks to CapOne's laxity.
I wonder what would happen if you challenged that card, demanding its removal. (Not that you would, but hear me out.) I gather (correct me if I'm wrong -- as if) the reporting agency would then contact CapOne to verify the card was added legitimately. One wonders what CapOne would say. "Uhh, no, we don't have a SS#, but good golly we're kinda pretty sure that's probably maybe the right authorized user."

I applied for CapOne Venture X and was approved on Monday January 10. The email I received said I would receive the card in 3 business days. It is now beyond 3 business days, but haven't received anything yet. Does anyone have recent datapoints on how long it takes to receive the card after approval? I want to receive the card and activate it soon, as I have a property tax payment that is due by Jan 31, 2022, and I want to put the payment on the Venture X to help meet the minimum spend.
Thanks.
Thanks.
